After reading the Chammas clip. I’m happy to hear that Sheens is getting closer to the action. What comes next though is two possible outcomes.
A strong Senior relationship in the coaching ranks with Madge happy to use Sheens to bounce ideas off and happy to have shared responsibility feeling more comfortable in his role.
OR
An awkward Gus / Griffin, Ivan scenario where by being a senior coach he is insistent on doing things his way and is likely feeling restrained by the club in his own role.

Perhaps it’s the clubs way of managing Madge out. They might know Madge won’t cop being overruled so by putting this structure in place with Sheens having the final say they’re leading Madge to pull the pin and get away with not having to pay him out.

Be interesting to see with these new changes how much Madge really wants to continue in the job. I’d say his safe, for now, but the Ciraldo leaks and the more public statements regarding sheens position in the club would be ways to let Madge know he is not safe for long without identifiable progress.

100% it’s a shot across the bow for sure and rightly so.

You do realise Madge and Sheens talk regularly have done so for 30 years. Sheens is not knifing Maguire for a position to cover the leadership.
That said he’s ruthless if he thinks Madge or anyone else is the problem they will end up gone.

I hope it's reinforcement and not an act of cowardice from management, as otherwise they've learned nothing.

That’s my hope as well. The fact they keep leaking everything to Chammas is concerning. We look like amateur hour. Let the coach coach that’s the way it supposed to be.

This to me is a really significant part of that article. If true, I am really happy with it. Madge will have no choice but to work closely with Sheens and a young coach will benefit from his experience and knowledge of the club.

This article makes me thing we are going to chance Cameron ciraldo as our coach

BUZZ reckons we are waiting on Ciraldo, he said this on NRL 360 tonight, I sure hope he is on the money

Pom overrules Buzz.

It's definitely who the media want.

I hope that too. But if it’s posturing to have an alternative structure in place ready to go for when the times right, I don’t see it that as cowardice- it’s smart business.
That’s something many of us fans have been demanding from the management of this club for some time.

From where I sit I will be a pretty dissatisfied x member, if the only casualties from a year from hell, is two assistant coaches are shown the door…who probably would have been flicked review or no review.

The review might recommend all sorts of restructures and job responsibilities, but nothing will change without new fresh ideas on how to play the game circa 2022.

Anyway I guess without some major recruitment and retrenchment, nothings going to change much

Do people really think a rookie coach could handle our mess. Maybe if his initials are JC.

I hate a rookie coach for us but Ciraldo is the real deal. I’d support the move.

Sorry I do understand the need for a contingency plan and agree with a club like ours having one, however it also somehow justifies failure and is a little undermining.

I'll send my resume in!

If Madge keeps his job and continues to develop the talented young guys we have invested in,then Im all for him seeing out his contractual agreement....

What really pisses me off is the people on here who vindicated Fannagan to be our coach because he has done his time and thats their excuse for hiring him so we get rid of Madge...Yet Packer got injured ,was recruited when he had form, redeemed himself for his actions off the field, educated himself for work after NRL and has been a great influence to the young guys who look up to him ...is still treated like a criminal and Flanno gets redemption...go figure....

I tend to think a new coach actually buys the club more time no ones expecting him to be under pressure from a season or two of not gelling this team into high achievers. Where as a noted two year contract of Madge on notice certainly makes for a bit more pressure throughout the whole place.

If the prospect is good enough, being in tune with both the modern game and youth, then is ready to roll for mine as long as given the necessary backing.

New coach, facilities, Sheens overseeing improved pathways and maybe a CEO, and ready to go places.

I have no idea about Ciraldo other than what's been written in the media and it's hard to know if people are pushing agendas or if a coach is genuinely a chance of succeeding.

What makes you say he's the real deal and why do you think he can step up from an assistant at a top 2 club to a Head Coach at a club with serious issues?

Our club is not the place for a Rookie coach.
