Madge's plans for Halves

we need to be patient with AD at 6. playing in the halves full time in the NRL is incredibly difficult. having a full pre-season with the club to bulk up and form those combinations will certainly help, but this season I'm just hopeful he gets the basics right in attack and holds his own in defence. there is potential there for him to become a Wighton-esque player, just don't expect it to happen in 2021.

I reckon AD is the guy we can build around. A big body who can do a lot of things exceptionally well. He has to work on certain parts of his game but he ain't no plodder.

AD's positives to me are his ability to bust the line with his running game, his spiral bombs, his passing game (so far passing to his right), an ability to catch a bomb plus he has heart and toughness. You can build around that. I see him developing into a better version of Wighton.

His big negative to me is his defense in the front line. He lacks express pace as well. I think he can fix the defense but I assume he is going to get caught out a bit especially by players like Cody Walker.

He’s shown he’s got good awareness too, normally kicks at the right times, it’s execution that let him down but that can easily be fixed. Defence was an issue but after being at fullback all year it takes time to adjust to defending up front again. Definitely could be someone to take us into the future, he’s still so young too. Good summary mate

He has shown he has that x-factor to me. I wasn't convinced when we signed him but it was a good signing. I was pretty confident Luc was going to be a weapon. Those two are are quality players who their clubs just let go.

I reckon he will kill it there but you are right. The fans have to give him some time.

I know I sound like I don't like Doueihi, I do and expect him to develop into our 5/8th, just wary of putting all our eggs in that basket like we have appeared to for 2021.

In saying all that I do agree with what you have said here.

There’s every chance he doesn’t work out and we’re back to square one, but at least he’s got the promise and potential there to do good

I’m hopeful that all of our players get the basics right in attack and hold their own in defence.

The X-factor was most noticeable when he played Ctr last year. With that lanky, bony frame he often troubled the defence with his carries. Once he shows his silky ball-skills the opposition should hang off him a fraction, leaving him a bit of time and space to create.
Someone else referred to him as awkward, thats exactly the word that sprung up in my head.
