Marsters Goal Kicking

If Benji gets back into the side he has to be saddled with the goal kicking, even with his dicky hamstrings. There are no other options

Don't know about attitude, but for sure his confidence was down. The set-up for the kicks took longer than usual, and they seemed to get progressively longer.

Sometimes it just isn't our day, but it would be good if that happened less often than not.

The more you watch Marsters kick the more problems you see , especially when they show the front on of him kicking

He squares out too early and his foot isn't coming in from behind the ball …..explains why he is pushing most kicks

Brooks issue is he puts the ball way too far away from his body and why he pulls his field goal attempts

Not sure if it could be an issue but Esan used to buy his own Nike boots but now is sponsored by Adidas.

Zac lomax would be great on the wing

He is a gun, he is also a centre forced to play wing, yes he would be good, but I am friends with his cousin, and saints have a high opinion of him, but money talks, and so does a starting centre spot each week, the goal kicking would be a bonus

Pretty sure he still is in Nike. Does seem to have a different kicking action this year though.

Know he has had a shocking run of injuries in Qld Cup but I still rate Carlin Anderson

And this kid can kick goals …like better than Thurston

If the Cows continue playing badly ...and he can stay healthy he will get his shot ....if not lets get him mid season for peanuts

Marsters is the last choice. If, and its a big if, Gamble is a decent option at centre, then Jennings to left wing, Thompson to the right wing outside Marsters.

Gamble isn't playing worse than Jennings and he's certainly quicker and almost as big - can't hurt giving him a go as he strikes the ball cleanly as a kicker - certainly more natural than Marsters.

Think we need an old fashioned kick off at training this week involving the entire squad including the ball kids. If anyone lands one from in front they get the job.

That won’t fix anything.

Friend of mine works for Adidas. Said they're sponsoring him now. But agree, action seems different

I was very angry and disgruntled with the way we lost this game and I blamed Esan the most out of any player. I just was thinking what could be wrong with Esan Marsters and correct me if I'm wrong, didn't he just bury his grand father just before we played the Bulldogs? (If so may his memory not be forgotten)

If this is the case he may need some time off just to grief

I don’t think that would be an issue. Players lose relatives every week and get on with the job. If his general play is struggling (I don’t think it is personally) it’s because his confidence is down due to his kicking. I wouldn’t look much deeper.

I would be happy to try Gamble at centre. Could work out well.

That's the big worry. I haven't seen him this year but putting him in the hardest position to defend after his debut was a bit of a defensive disaster may not be the best thing for him.

for what it is worth here is Marsters round 2 wearing nike boots from wests tigers website. I know that my son wont stop pestering me to geththem for him.

Can't understand why so much discussion about boots, as they may make a minute difference, but Esan is currently looking no better than the nine year olds kicking for the first time yesterday.
