I reckon the first time wests-tigers play against marty, as he gets up to play the ball, then open hand slap him across the face.
If you keep niggling at him for most of the game, he will seek revenge and eventually have a brain explosion.
 
At least with the endless conjecture that goes with this club, you're numbed to each step backwards by the time it happens…

Guess that's probably not an accident...
 
Being old school the thing that bothers me most and many of my era is when does the younger generation finally step up and honour what they have signed ,if Taupau wanted to move on well and good but honestly show some loyalty to the organisation that gave you a start and see your contract out , suck it up and show some pride in yourself not just treat people that have believed in you like rubbish ..good riddance my friend what goes around comes around trust me!.

NothingButWT saying on Twitter that Marty has been trying to get a release for 2016 since Round 1\. Was originally going to Titans before the DCE backflip but since has been trying to organise to join manly. DCE gets what he wants apparently :/
 
Disappointing news, however, do we really want to keep a player who does not want to play for WT? He would have $400k reasons (550k (Manly offer?) - 150k (current salary ?) ) reasons to hate every day we keep him here. :frowning:

Excuse me not everybody can be bought some of us were raised to respect and honour honestly our dealings in life ..no I would of seen my contract out with pride and moved on with my life ..They could of given me a Million and I still would of happily stayed next year ..you see respect can not be bought it is the making of a real man to have pride in yourself and the respect of others .
I am in business and for over thirty years on many occasions I could of done other deals at one time or another that would of profited me more than what I had committed to and many times lost money on a deal but I suppose that is why I am still in business my word is my bond!
 
Once again this is managerial incompetence of the highest order. Do these highly paid fools ever learn? No player signed by the Tigers would ever think he would have to actually honour a contract . As soon as something better comes up these morons release the player. This is it for me re membership for this year. They treat the fans with contempt so clearly they don't need my money. 14th , 15th or last for 2016.
When will the management of this club ever play hard ball ? Whoever sent the email to the wrong place should be instantly dismissed as any claim that management at the club has improved has just been shot down in flames.
At the Tigers this rubbish just keeps on keeping on.
 
HERES the point he is under contract and he should be made to stay, or next year we will have brools and moses and teddy saying i want to go too. MR C.E.O. get some balls and say NO.

Just a note snake I dont agree with this just looking at it from his perspective.
 
Really disappointed about Marty leaving, but Tapau is one player I would not want in the club if his heart is not in it. He doesnt seem the type to put in if thats the case.

Jesse Sue & Ave on the other hand. I am really warming to these guys. They work and fight hard. They are made of the right stuff and I hope the recent events means that they can be secured and encouraged. Sue, Ava, Halatau, Lawrence, Woods..these are the kind of guys you want to build a club around.

I agree 100%. The head of football operations was a position created in our club to deal with matters like this for the good of our club. Why have this position based on this outcome! Unless there is more to it?

Yeah well if that's the case then screw him. If a nobody signs a contract with a club, and becomes a star then he's entitled to his payday, after his existing contract expired. Wanting out the minute you get good? That's just soft.

Also nothingbutWT suggests there's a second part of the deal which makes him very happy. Surely no-one would be remotely happy if Ballin signed, so maybe there is someone we're getting in return???

If Taupau is the difference between Manly making the 8 & winning the comp, then I'm no judge. Just like I don't believe he's the difference between last place & the top 8 for the Tigers.

If the Ballin signing is correct, he does provide that no-nonsense approach this club needs. A "no drama- hard work" type player. His on-field ability might actually be second to what he brings the young guys off the field.

Also, like Halatau, I get the feeling Ballin could play some lock as well, giving Cherrington game time without removing him from the field necessarily.
