Everyone knows Team Kapow already belongs to Halatau.

It was just like Ryan O'Hara trying to steal "Rhino" from Chris Heighington.

I have a feeling some of the quieter spoken Islander boys in out team may well have had an issue with that kind of behaviour.

I expect Taupau to get SMASHED when we play them.

Regardless of what the mole said i dont like Taupau, never did, wasn't fussed when he left either.

Only reason i supported him is because he played for the club i love.

Sue should be used in the second row, have him defending with Moses and Lawrence with Brooks.

Sironen off the bench, would provide impact with his fresh legs coming up against tired forwards. We have an advantage with him being a ball player, 80 min player and an impact forward.

Thought I share what I was reading

I don't necessarily believe what the Mole says to be true but at the same time you can see the cockiness in some of our games this year with the over top smiling at opposition players and slit your throat gesture.
Correct that there hasn't been a derogatory word from him.
Make no mistake about the reasons for him going to Manly are money motivated as well as playing for a side that should feature in Semi final footy with players such as D.C.E, Nate Myles, Jamie Lyon, Brett Stewart, Matai, Taupau, Lewis Brown, Brenton Lawrence, Jake Trbojevic…...Career wise his making the right move and probably less focus and pressure will be on him as there is great players around him.
Some will argue that it was cause of Jason Taylor being our Coach and didn't think highly of him as a Coach for going elsewhere.

I am hugely disappointed that his not with us anymore but at the same time if there is any truth to that article of him having a chip on his shoulder? Well I'm glad his gone.

Your right it doesn't state that on the article, GNR just described him as having one throughout the Season.

Except i was critical of his attitude throughout the yr, especially after that Souths match. I'm actually quoted as saying he came across as a lair in that game. Nothing to do with me turning on him because he moved on.

The mole comment was the icing on the cake for some people to justify what they said.
I thought Taupau had a pretty big ego too and went a little over the top sometimes - but he did his best for us when he put our jersey on and was one of our (very) few hard men.
He's a current international.
Seriously, our supporters are the only ones who wouldn't want him somewhere in our team.
If we were worried about first grade footballers having ego problems then we wouldn't have anybody in the team.

Yeah I agree with you Ck that most 1st grade players have egos and comes with the territory, some are just more big headed than others.
Taupau is a massive loss no doubt about it and earlier in the year I thought we could build a team around him.

I couldn't care less about his ego either, he put a bit of fear into the opposition, and that is something that we don't have in our team very often, maybe he did need to be able to put bigger minutes into a game, but maybe that could be improved with the right training and coaching. Be interesting what Barrett does with him next season, I still think he will kill it with Manly, pity if he does against us
