I mean he is a great fullback, A great fullback behind Tedesco, tom trbojevic, Billy Slater, Alex Johnson, Greg Inglis, RTS, Moylan, Clint Gutherson, Darius Boyd, Matthew Duffy, Kalyn Ponga etc.

He is almost as good as Michael Gordon, Jack Wighton and Sean Meaney.

But hey lets LOCK IN the reserve grader. Make him Captain and make it so that when his reduced contract expires we pay FULL Freight for someone Canterbury overpaid by 450K.
I want him to prove me wrong. But I don't see the 11th best fullback in the league taking us anywhere.

He is far from a reserve grade, he is a certain starter for us each week, plays 80 mins, speaks well and has the respect of the playing group. I'd have preferred Lawrance myself but have absolutely no problem with this decision.

Your ranking of Mbye at fullback is way off IMHO, he is better than Johnston, Dufty, Moylan, Gordon, Wighton and Meaney, and Ponga is playing five eight, Boyd and Gutherson's form are at best equal to Mbye, I say worse. Then you have GI and Slater, both who are on the slide, so I would have Tommy Turbo, Tedesco, RTS as definitely better, with Mbye still improving, he is a good choice for captain.

Also don't think his 11th, Billy Slater retired, Alex Johnson injury prone, Greg Inglis drunk and past his prime, Moylan , you can have him, mistake riddled, Darius Boyd injury prone, Mathew Duffy too small and a Reserve grader, Kalyn Ponga is a Five eighth

That's debatable. He was very ordinary in the All Stars game.

My mates who are seasoned bulldogs fans and sponsors feel the same way.

That said he has played Des Ball for many years which has stifled everyone. They had two five eights in Reynolds and Mbye running off Lichaa Passes at risk of being over called by Tolman.

He played fullback for the first time in the NRL for a full season with a mid season switch.
He needs to show grater courage and energy,
