Mick Potter's future at Wests Tigers

To begin I would like to note that Mick Potter is currently off contract and is not contracted with us for the 2015 season.

Our next 9 games include:

Titans
Rabbitohs
Warriors
Sea Eagles
Cowboys
Eels
**Titans**
Roosters
**Sharks**

I can only see us winning the highlighted games, 2/10 to start a year isn't a great record, opinions will differ on which games we will win but if Potter has a bad start to the year what would you do, and which games do you think we will win?

Personally, I would have Potter stay with us to mentor our backs, he has done a great job with out fullbacks, Tedesco, Meaney, Moltzen and Rowe improved immensely since Potter took over.

For the head coach I think signing Michael Maguire is a no brainer.

If you think we'll be 0-6 to start the season those other two games are meaningless because he'll be gone. I think we're a chance to be 2-2 tbh. Titans and Warriors are winnable games.

The no Brainer bit is Maguire is signed till 2017 at Souths , what makes you think he would give that up and come here?

Only problem is we will be vsing Warriors in NZ and Titans on the Gold Coast.

Sorry mate.

Sorry folks but sack him and get WHO ?
Sheens was coach and we were failing
Potter is the coach and we are failing

Whats the variable that is not really changing ? Players
Lack of desire to win is what i put it down to ..

Is the club really in a position financially to sack another coach who is under contract and bring in a new one? I thought that money was a bit tight at the Tigers at the moment.

He should see out his contract, if we don't improve then don't re-sign him.

But who will want to come to us instead? Potter would be the lowest paid coach in the comp and he is probably under the most pressure.

No more stabbing people in the back

Bye Bye Mick is all that comes to mind but who does he realistically get replaced with?

He should be replaced with current Wests Tigers State Cup coach, He is mature, ecperienced and has a good record with Wests Tigers sides.

i just hope he grows a set and puts players on notice
there souldnt be any reward for poor performance

we have lots of stock to chose from once everyone is fit and it will be really frustrating to see Potter pick the same under-performing players with that being the case.

Realistic options could be, Neil Henry, Trent Barrett, Nathan Brown, Todd Payten, Brian Smith, Steve Folkes, Kevin Walters, Michael Hagan.

Not necessarily saying I want any of the listed. They're the available coaches that come to mind.

There needs to be an option relating to wait and see. I also don't judge him solely on the team's performances. Is he choosing the best side he can ? Are we showing improvement ?

Realistically I think he should see out the season. We can't afford to keep paying coaches out, and it doesn't make it attractive for a new bloke to step in either.

He either can't Coach or the players are not following his tuition/instructions…..either player need to be sacked for not following his instructions or he needs to go....

The guy who came in after Sheens was always going to be a sacrificial lamb. I know he was desperate for an NRL gig, but Potter would probably have been better served holding out a little longer then inheriting this rabble. If he gets sacked he'll never get another head coaching role. He'll be this generations Terry Lamb.
