Milone

Eh I've deathrode the crap out of Milone but he did lots of good things today. He got his hands dirty, didn't screw up. Made some clutch tackles and he held up the pass for Naiqama very well. It was a 500% improvement on last week.

And Chee Kam… well I dunno how much of him you've watched but he's not gonna come in and be James Roberts mate. He's got potential though.

Heleta is the one that should be there, but he's hurt. I don't rate Peni.
 
Unfortunately Milone is too far from his best days in U20's, while he is solid in defence his contribution is attack is below par. For mine Fine, MCK or Haleta should be in front of him in the pecking order.
 
I thought he was alright today and as said he's defense was pretty good. But the guy never has been and never will be a first grader.

True he was much better today, but if we hope to win some games then this young fellow is not the answer I'm afraid.

Mate i cant argue with that.

The kid has copped so much flack and if you took todays 80 minutes alone and forget his previous games it was a good day for him and i think its fair to acknowledge that. Yes his days are numbered, but if whenever he is picked he can do what he did today then we can lay blame elsewhere for our losses. His defense was just good, it actually stood out.
 
Fine is a backrower these days. Would get found out in the centres. Heleta is the only good centre we have coming through and he's injured. I can see why Milone is there. MCK grew up in the backrow and has been tried in the centres a bit, Milone at least has lived and breathed the position his whole career.

I expect had Heleta been fit he'd have been there last week not Milone.

Also MCK is not going to come in and immediately hold down a centre spot either. Milone is just holding the spot for Simona anyway.
 
I don't see Milone as an issue. He isn't a first grade player and probably never will be but he had nothing to do with losing the last couple of games.
 
Every team relies on players like Milone who bridge the gap between NSW Cup and the NRL. If he continues to improve his defence, works on quick hands passing and rediscovers that step he will be useful. A very fast winger outside of him also provides a good balance.
 
I've been critical of Milone, but credit where credit is due, he had a good game.
He is not a world beater, but he more than did his job, well done.

His defence was pretty good , but no opposition centre in the NRL will be feeling threatened with his attack
 
improved 1000 percent from last week, which still leaves him some way off being a first grader…

at least Simona is only one game away
 
Only one defensive lapse early but then solid. But you are right Happy he is never going to threaten the opposition.
 
That was his best first grade game today but I suspect that's as good as it gets. Not really a long term first grade proposition
