Mitch Brown

Spud was more average than good.

I'd rather pomeroy or the other from cronulla that went to japan, but at least it wasnt simmons.

I just hope this promised one rep player per year recruit is a forward, seeing as we have none.

He was better than expected, and thats what i think Brown will be.

Yeh, Fraser Anderson would have been good, and Pomeroy's certainly a talent, i dont care what some people say, but Brown with his size, speed and crooked eyes will be good.

As for the rep player, dream on, but i know deep down u know that already.

Cant get my head around this signing, we have been loosing games and plenty of tight games because of inexperience in the 6 and 7, plus a front row that struggles to lay a platform. So we buy two outside backs. Four years of failing to deliver and we sign up 3 three quaters????

He could turn out to be a quality buy, lets face it being a back in the sharks backline would not have been the best job in town but I just want to see one top shelve front rower before we start looking at anything else. Adam Woolnough for depth and Ross for quality would be the direction I would be looking at.

Supercoach, Tim Sheens has for a long time struggled to be able to buy frontrowers. I doubt we will sign a quality prop (a couple are on the market) . I simply can not understand it myself. The $80K or $100K that has gone to Brown could have gone to a sizeable Matt Scott contract.

Surely the Broncos will be throwing the kitchen sink at Scott considering they are down on props (Taylor gone),Hunt will be gone & they will be loaded with 3rd Party funds; Add to that its nowhere near as big a move to Brissy as opposed to Sydney.

I honestly dont think we were ever in a position to get Scott; although i would love to see him with us.
Scott will be a Bronco in 2010.

We have better or of similar talent to Brown already at the club already. No idea why Sheens signed him….

Anyways, welcome Browny.... and Good Luck !

Thats my thinking as well.Don't get me wrong he is a solid player but whats he bring to the team that Gallant or Moltzon don't.
I understand the Tupou & Daniela signing as it's pretty clear they were bought in to cover for the departure of Tagive & Collis
My other concern is we have only one more signing left & the papers are saying it'd going to be Taumata.Which is all well an good, the young fella is a real talent but we need a BLOODY PROP FORWARD.
Geez im starting to sound like a parot :unamused:

Compared to 2009-

1.Gallant
2.Tuiaki
3.Ayshford
4.Lawrence
5.Ryan
6.Marshall
7.Moltzen

Is it really any better?? I fail to see how.

Its defintely a lot faster.

I think thats what Sheens is looking for.

Marshall needs speedy men outside him…..sometimes I think he is too fast for the blokes we have now.

At least Daniela and Brown are very fast, and top shelf speed is a commodity thats for sure.

ahhhhhhhhhhh - i hope you're right. how many times have we been through this before. i just dont see any light at at the end of this tunnel.

:nerd:

I am trying to get into the head of Sheens. If he doesn't turn into Josh Morris, I'll play him in the back-row. Genius.

I would give up trying to get into Sheens head mate….your brain will explode....

We got Brown I hope he makes a go of it.....

Very Average signing. A waste of money.

A lot of people said that about Pat Richards. Let's just wait and see. He might
be very good.

As for forwards, we have them by the bucket load. We have a number of props coming through eg. Woods, Asa, the very good player from Balmain, who's name escapes me at the moment.

We will have a backline with plenty of speed next year and that is something of which you cannot have enough.

I dont see the 3/4's being the problem to us not winning games. We've got plenty of talent there within the club already but theyre not getting decent ball because of our lack of go forward and under performing halves. I hope there's some method to Sheens's madness.

Nice work Danos thanks for the effort….. was looking up those stats myself very interesting reading.....Gallant against the Dogs this year was 2 from 5 goals not 2 tries...

Those stats indicate Brown >>>>>>>>>Gallant...and >>>>>>>>>Moltzen as a Fullback...
