Mitch Brown

I can only assume that this means Moltzen will play halfback & Ayshford is moving to lock.

Wouldn't want to be Beau Ryan or worse- Rhys Hanbury. They must be looking at this & thinking "Damn, I must be the reason we are losing games…"

Brown might very well play fullback next season, with Lawrence & Daniela in the centres & the big boppers on the wings.

One positive- I'm betting this puts the kybosh on all that horrendous Fitzhenry jibber-jabber.

If the Tigers can still snare a good prop, all is not lost. In fact, a commitment to Moltzen at half & the addition of Scott Logan/ Ben Ross etc would almost certainly make me feel better about next season.

In some ways, it's addition by subtraction- removing the guys that have gone stale & promoting younger, fresher players.

I want a forward (Burgess or Scott) and I want him now :smiling_imp:

Look, Burgess is under contract, if he comes to Australia to play, 2011 appears to be the earliest unless something dramatic happens to him back home and he wants out all of a sudden.

As for Scott, I'd take him, but given he's an SOO rep player, I don't know if we have enough coin to get him. If the club doesn't re-sign Halatau, Trimarchi, Payne and Galea then we may be an outside chance, but realistically…I don't like the chances.

dont worry, its okay to dream. we all do it. what we want and what we get are miles apart. bring on 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gallant Brown.

Very Average signing. A waste of money.

really because brown is 21 and played 33 FG game while gallant has played what 10 FG games? and how old is he? and how many clubs were chasing him last year when he was off contract?

Brown has one major advantage over Gallant- size.

This is not as bad a signing as many would want to believe- so long as the Tigers recruitment doesn't end at outside backs.

Instead of comparing Brown to Gallant- compare him to Hanbury- the Tigers most versatile outside back. I'd rather Brown- so that's an upgrade.

1\. Brown
2\. Toupou
3\. Daniela
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuiaki
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

Doesn't look all that bad to me.

I think I'm going to be sick. I don't know much about Mitch, the games I have seen of his he hasn't done much to grab my attention. But seeing as though he struggles to break into the worst backline in the comp, doesn't instill me with alot of hope.

Why aren't we buying any PROPS, or at least a instinctive halfback????

That is true.

I would take him at the back over Gallant or Moltzen tbh

Gallant had Hodgson in front of him. Gallant should have played every game this year.

Mitch Brown isn't good enough to tie up Gallants shoe laces. He is Average at best and Gallant would run circles around him. Read the Sharks website they are doing handstands that he has left.

Is he better than Collis or tagive ?? No, he is not.

Is this a step forward? No it is not.

We need animal front rowers not winger/fullbacks who are not better than our State Cup players.

Some Wests Tigers supporters need to wake up and smell the roses and you are one of them buddy.

josh morris was a virual unknown last year, struggled to get a crack in grade and look at him now,

Brown is big and fast and if you have seen him play fullback, he runs the ball back hard like a wade mckinnon, IMO he is the best outside back we signed

Bug I would suggest it is you who needs a reality check in regard to Gallant.

I hope he turns out to be brilliant but the only NRL games he has excelled in were last year V the hapless Dogs and this year V the Bunnies when we belted them.

The first game we played the Bunnies he was diving at feet rather than being tackled.

Glad to be proven wrong but I would prefer someone who runs the ball back hard and has size to a really small guy with bucket loads of heart but not a great deal else

IMO he isnt better then collis in form, but brown isnt on collis money and IMO he wont play centre, and at this stage he is better then tagive, bottom line is if he was good enough he would of been there, and im sorry bug but gallant wont get much time at fullback next year unless tupou doesnt work out

I dont think anyones got a problem with Brown really.I think the bemusing part about it all is that we seem to be buying in areas we already 'have decent depth in instead of the more serious front row position. Its not gonna matter who we have to score these tries if we never have the cattle to get us down that end of the field to start with.

I think people are being VERY harsh on Brown. I bet most people have seen him play under 5 times. I know I have, and even when I have watched him or the Sharks I haven't taken much notice of him.

He is young, big (huge actually… he's bigger than Mongahan) and from what I can remember pretty quick. Give the guy a go!

Were shopping at the $2 discount store just because its cheap rather than what we need..only to be thrown away in 12 months.
Im flabbegasted Rex!

I agree with tom cat what about pritchard and the other guys all realy good players, but in saying that i wish Mitch BROWN all the best and unlike some others welcome to the tigers mate

I agree with people when talking about the signing of "another" outside back, it is confusing, but im confident that Mitch will be the best signing out of all 3 newcomers.

I rate him big time. Outstanding fullback. With a strong pre-season I hope he gets a crack at the #1 jumper early next year.

how about we give the bloke a chance to play for wests-tigers, if he is coming here, before he becomes another scapegoat. :exclamation:

Good point, but im tipping everyone will end up very happy with this signing. Not sure what his best position is, but he'll nail down one spot for sure and be a better signing than what Elford was back in 05.
