Mitch Brown

We have better or of similar talent to Brown already at the club already. No idea why Sheens signed him….

Anyways, welcome Browny.... and Good Luck !

The point is, we don't need another back.

If it was someone like Inu or Hunt I would understand. Then again we are no chance at signing QUALITY players.

how about we give the bloke a chance to play for wests-tigers, if he is coming here, before he becomes another scapegoat. :exclamation:

Good point, but im tipping everyone will end up very happy with this signing. Not sure what his best position is, but he'll nail down one spot for sure a**nd be a better signing than what Elford was** back in 05.

LMAO!
That wouldnt be too hard to achieve…and hardly a ringing endorsement

I hope Sheens isn't forgetting about Lazarus..

I hope Sheens isnt forgetting about a lot of players, with Tupou, Brown, Daniela and Taumata (assuming he has signed) being signed it makes me wonder whats going to happen to Moltzen, Ayshford, Gallant and Lazarus… Not so much Ryan though :stuck_out_tongue:

I also think Sheens has forgotten about getting a front rower too lol

great just great another useless player we sign

how many more wingers do you want Sheens?? which one are you going to turn into a halfback?

I think this could prove to be a very good signing. Very quick.

And I don't think we are as good in the backs as you are all saying. Ryan and collis are not pqgood enough and halatau is woeful in the centres. As for those players in the juniors they are unproven in first grade.

I wonder what they plan for taumata though, he could be given the utility tag.

its 2006 all over again Sam Harris Danny Galea Jamal Lolesi players that wont even make the side and wasted money on them

the sad thing is Ryan is as good as the 3 superstars we have signed for next year

Brown is of a decent size and could end up improving quite a bit yet. He's still young and only played Australian schoolboys a couple of years ago. He's a decent size too so Sheens may be looking to get some more size in the backline and stiffen up the defence.

Lazarus is going to have to come back slowly. He has played next to no football in the last two years and will take a while to find form if he stays injury free. Gallant, wel I think his size is an issue. He has very good speed off the mark and has plenty of ticker etc, but I think Sheens thinks he has better options at his disposal. Moltzen and Ayshford will be in the top 17 without doubt.

Ryan will be the one under the most pressure next season

A similar player to Josh Morris before this season. Whether they turn out the same is completely in the hands of Brown and Sheens.

I don't agree with this signing too but I will say welcome and good luck to Mitch. Tuiaki and Lawrence are 2 deffinates next year while I assumed Ayshford was a deffinate too in the centres. Tupou and Daniela were than options on the other wing with Daniela being able to play centre. Brown is just another option in the back 5 somewhere. At the very least, hopefully they are on base salary or near enough. Neither of the 3 are proven FGers so anything too much more is a waste.

My question now leads into retention. Where do the likes of Dunley, Hanbury and Gallant and Ryan sit in all of this? Lazarus too. Than we have the forwards with Payne, Galea, Halatau and whats doing with Skandalis next year? Is Fulton coming back? Are we going to find someone to get the team going forward outside of the club? Or are we going to go with the likes of Schirnack, Dwyer and Mataka.

the only player that i know who is similar to Morris is his brother. thats whats makes them lethal. trust me - mitch brown has not proved to be in the same class yet.

Well Josh Morris-pre 2009 was fast, decent sized but had errors in him. I believe Brown is the same though I haven't seen too much of him.

ahhhhhhhhhhh - i hope you're right. how many times have we been through this before. i just dont see any light at at the end of this tunnel.

I am trying to get into the head of Sheens. If he doesn't turn into Josh Morris, I'll play him in the back-row. Genius.

Whats going to happen to players like Akepira ,MEANEY, LANE ,PRITCHARD ,.DAVIS.???

I think some of the guys you mention tom cat have deserved a crack at FG but sometimes there are reasons for it….Sheens sticking loyal to players like Collis, Halatau, Payne, Ryan, Lawrence Tuiaki, Gibbs etc.... salary cap issues no one really knows about....besides if these blokes don't get a run in first grade I hope they do move on to other clubs and kick on..... but coming to think of it can you name me any that have left to go on and do anything...I can only think of 3 Issac De Gois, Ben Roberts and Nick Kouperitsis....

I'm with steven_tiger Mitch Brown has the best football ahead of him....He has size he is quick a former Austrailin Schoolboy and may well flourish under the Wests Tigers style of play...What's the worst that can happen ...he's a dud...He may well surprise...

this will be a massive risk on the tigers part if they do decide to put all three _virtually_ untested players on the side next year

plus assuming that they move ayshford to lock, fulton to bench, moltz to halves, where will lazarus take part in the team? im fearing he will become nothing more than a dunley (never used), but why extend his contract then…

i would much rather have an experienced prop, or a genuine 7
i stomached tupou but the more fringe-graders we are signing the more sick i feel in the stomach

Difference is those blokes were on good dollars.

Are u saying Elford didnt turn out to be a better signing than expected? Because thats basically all i said, and Elford was a good signing. By the time he left he was past it, but before that he was surprisingly good, so it is a good endorsement of Brown, who has his best footy ahead of him.

I'll stress again that i dont understand signing another outside back after getting Daniela and Tupou, but as far as Mitch Brown himself is concerned, i cant wait to see the egg on so many faces. He'll be a regular first grader with us who does the job every week, and everyone will love him.
