Mitch Brown

The outside back signings are proving popular aren't they  Can't see Brown playing much first grade unless we are decimated through injury. Surely the Tigers would not have paid much for him…One would think so anyway.

Where's that icon where the smiley kept on banging his head against the wall, that came in handy.

Well this is all a very sad state of affairs.

Signing one maybe even two fringe players from another club is an acceptable gamble. But to do more than that and all backs when we are sorely lacking forward power is a disgrace.

+1\. No-one can understand the decisions this club makes.

is this a joke? where are the front rowers n halves that we need?…we have bloody backs...rediculous

I'm not gonna bag the bloke because I've honestly never noticed him in a game and I pretty much watch every game across a season. This is still a massive worry that we are recruiting players who struggle to even get a run in first grade in other teams. Even on the minimum 55k it's just too much. Would much rather see any of the under 20's being given the spot in the squad.

i think everyone should leave mitch alone imagine if he comes on here to readthis and sees tigers fans bagging him out it wont be good for his confidence and he wont want to come here and play good and win a grand final opr play for australia we should trust sheens he buys good players like benji prince pat richards galloway morris or did yous forget they only came cause of him

If his confidence is affected by forum comments he has a lot of problems… John Morris would be a basket case by now!!

this is a good signing, if toupou doesnt fire then we have a ready made FG winger/fullback, and he is quick so i assume our backline will look something like
\

Brown
toupou
daniela
lawrence
tuiaki

the more backs signed the more likely it is moltzen will be halfback next year. and guys brown is actually a good signing you will see,

I wont criticise it too much til I see him have a game for us but I think we're fine for backs.

Moltzen, Tuiaki, Ayshford, Lawrence and Tupou to make up the back five, plus the additions of Hanbury, Lazarus, Gallant and Meaney as back-ups, I really think this money could've been spent better elsewhere.

I think 2010 is gonna be another frustrating year…

Where's our rep player signing huhhhhhhhhh?

Isnt our rep signing going to be Burgess

I heard if we did sign him it wouldnt be til 2011.

Sheens said one rep player per year.

Australian Schoolboy doesnt count as rep player.

Let's do it, 5 straight years without September footy.

Tigers snare Mitch Brown from Sharks
17th July 2009, 14:14 WST

Wests Tigers are going tit for tat with the Sharks in the signing stakes by poaching one of Cronulla's own in Mitch Brown.

The Tigers signed the 21-year-old Sharks utility to a two-year contract just days after losing centre Dean Collis to Cronulla.

Brown has played 33 first-grade games for the Sharks following his debut in 2006 and has regularly come off the bench to slot into the backline.

Tigers assistant coach Royce Simmons said the fact Brown can play a number of positions means he will bring versatility to the side and arrives at a perfect time in his career.

"Mitch can play fullback, wing and centre so he brings plenty of versatility to us," he said.

"At the end of the year, he'll have played about 40 games and that's the time when players generally start to play good footy.

"When they get 40-odd games under their belt, they've got experience and they start feeling a part of the first-grade team.

"So his best years are in front of him, there's no doubt about that."

Brown was part of the 2005 Australian schoolboys under-18s team which boasted State of Origin representatives Darius Boyd, Michael Jennings, Jarrod Mullen and Mitchell Pearce.

The signing of Brown comes on top of the recent signings of former Brisbane and Bradford winger Tame Tupou and Penrith centre Geoff Daniela.

I want a forward (Burgess or Scott) and I want him now :smiling_imp:

Look, Burgess is under contract, if he comes to Australia to play, 2011 appears to be the earliest unless something dramatic happens to him back home and he wants out all of a sudden.

As for Scott, I'd take him, but given he's an SOO rep player, I don't know if we have enough coin to get him. If the club doesn't re-sign Halatau, Trimarchi, Payne and Galea then we may be an outside chance, but realistically…I don't like the chances.

Thats a bit unfair to Mitch Brown.

Nothing against Mitch Brown,Im sure he's a decent bloke.Im just annoyed we let players go and then sign players who are pretty much at the same level.Theres no point to it other than buying Sheens more time to build a winning side.
