Mitch Moses Denied Release - Confirmed

Moses can play there is no doubt but there are areas in his game that are too inconsistent to be a great player - yet! Still think it will happen though.

Just not for us
As usual any player we develop or that comes to us that shows an ounce of talent/progression/future…they end up elsewhere and we get stuck with the rest

Im getting pretty jack of WTs being and NRL feeder club for 15 others

I don't think he deliberately cost us, it's just another standard performance from him. Too concerned with going for the hero play instead of playing the percentages. What annoyed me the most was him putting in a nothing kick on the 3rd tackle and they scored from the ensuring set. We need an old head in the halves. One who isn't concerned with trying to be a star. Between Marshall and Moses, I've forgotten what that's like.

Im with you on that. Moses hasn't changed the way he plays in the last 2 weeks it is just the way he is, rocks or diamonds. More often than not it's rocks.

I don't see the point in letting him leave now. If we are any chance of challenging the top 8 he needs to be here.

Happy we didn't up his offer, $850k for Moses is absurd, there are a number of better value options on the market for next year.

Challenging the top 8?

"Tell him he's dreaming, son"

With an attitude like that you might end up getting a start!

I know we are next to no chance but you don't abandon a season 6 weeks in. That's the kind of soft mentality that got us here.

So do I. He has been poorly handled through this whole mess, it's left a filthy taste in most supporters mouths. It doesn't mean I don't think he's more than capable of becoming a great. It will never be here though, the bridges are burnt, the blood is thicker than water and frankly, where possible if I was in charge of WT Isaac Moses, Benny Elias and the "Dreamweaver" would never be welcome anywhere near anything to do with our club again.

Life went forward without them before and it will go forward without them again. In fact I would suspect it will be much more positive without them.

Would be nice if the NRL supported clubs developing junior players

Soft mentality from the supporters? you kidding me? if we didnt have the softest forward pack in the southern hemisphere and also didnt have a retarded backline us supporters might actually see some final action. We are only saying what we do based on performances. If this was a real job there would be alot of fired people looking for work this week…

What is the answer though? There's clearly a divide between clubs who have money and use TPA to the max, which basically nullifies the salary cap.
Its clear to every Tom Dick and Harry, and the NRL know it, but they are too scared to take on the powerful clubs. Like i alluded to in another topic, the last time the Broncos were threatened with a weakening of their stranglehold on Brisbane they became a massive player in the push for Superleague.

There's only 2 ways out as far as i see,a draft (which has been shot down as a restraint of trade) or a points system whereby you can only accrue a certain amount of points in your squad. At least with the points way, there is no limit to a players earnings.

The NRL needs to pull their finger out and they need to do it soon. WT have their greatest ever membership numbers which has taken a lot of bloody hard work and a glimpse of success. Take that glimpse of success away with no hope in the near future and that number will reduce by a third.

I have been giving it Moses in spades but despite his output he put in to the best of his ability. He didn't throw the game, he was good when we were good, he was poor when we were poor.

Typical Moses really.

I don't believe he is capable of becoming great. Kicking game, strategy, pressure application, defence, cut out passes, positional vision all need a lot of work. He has moments of excitement in general due to his speed, but would be the poorest 6 in the nrl at present and probably close the worst to have worn the wests tigers 6 jersey.

He is far away from greatness and will never be in that class.

Rankin, anasta,fitzhenry,lawrence.. They were worse. But yes moses would be in the bottom 3 halves in nrl. Even mcrone has 6-7 try assists!!

I thought the effort was there we just lose focus around the sixty minute mark - short a couple of quality players. Saints a great example.

I'm not so sure, his play he is very similar to how Thurston played as a benchie for the Dogs,Gould wanted him at the Roosters on potential but Stuart didn't,went North and started to fire.
Goal kicking halves with potential are a rare beast,he should have been signed before the other three.I may be wrong but Parra. have a bargain.

Let him spend the year in Ron Massey Cup

As long as it is not with the magpies hehehe

Still don't get the hate , same for Tedesco and Woods

They won't to leave they leave , they leave ,they want to stay , they stay ….

No reason to hate them though

How many years has Woods played for us now , 8 years ??

Tedesco 6 years ??

You said something earlier like this. I understand why you don't understand it. It's about showing loyalty and respect towards a club that has bent over backwards for you.

You don't value those personal character traits. I personally value those character traits and hatred is a good word to describe my feelings towards people that act the way young Mitchell has. If that was my kid I'd be embarrassed.

You won't meet a more loyal person than myself , but these guys have the right to explore their options

Many don't know half the garbage they have had to put up with

Part of me hopes that Tedesco tells us where to stick it , we will truly know what poontang we are truly in then

Thurston has intelligence and vision on a football field. Mitch has none. The last set was evidence of this. He can't win clutch games. He can't even kick tactically. No comparison

He was pretty good in the first half but as usual very inconsistent. His 5th tackle options when closing out games have never been a strong point from memory.

If we let him go we are pretty much throwing away the season as we have no depth. I would like to see Brookes take control of 5th tackle options when he returns.

Amazing that Moses has generated so much interest in the press & even on our forum. He is not an origin player nor even a consistent 1st grade match winner. I'm glad our club has prioritised the re-signing of Teddy & even Woods over him. We can use Mm's salary to bulk up the team with seasoned nrl players or even go for an experienced 1/2 to guide Brooks along.

I can't find your post in another thread , but you mentioned about the NRL having it wrong about mid season player transfers

I think it works with a mid season transfer period , but not the way it is currently set up

But I reckon you shouldn't be allowed to play against your former club in that season

Thanks for the effort Mitch and taking a load of money off the club while you developed as a footballer. Congratulations on finding another club that is willing to pay for potential rather than performance. Don't let that door hit your ass on the way out.
