Mitch Moses Denied Release - Confirmed

We hedge our bets on this bloke and let a talent like Te Marie Martin leave and let Austin leave whilst on contract because we thought Moses would develop into an elite player **and this is the loyalty he shows**? But wait hindsight a beautiful thing right. :crazy
It be great if he could play for parra in a couple weeks at least we would get a minimum 3 try's down his side guaranteed

Are you kidding?
He's obviously been told he's not in the future plans and unwanted by the club - not the other way around.
Another team then makes him an offer for next year so he asks that as long as you don't want me can I go now?
Nothing more or less.
If someone just told me they didn't see any value in me I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be feeling exactly wonderful.
What never fails to amaze me is the number of so called supporters who turn so easily and so viciously on our players without knowing all the facts.
The 'gutter' journalists all of a sudden turn into saints who never tell a porky.

Let him go….not worth the coin he is commanding and we can use those funds elsewhere and recruit other players with more talent. Focus on Teddy and WoodsyTigers!!

I just watched the JT videos on Fox Sports News, then it followed onto the James Hooper reports re Mitchell Moses.

What a peanut that guy is, he talks like he is just making stuff up as it comes to his head. It's one of those things when you read someone's writing and get one impression of them, then you hear them speak out loud, without the benefit of time and revision and an editor, and you think "wow this person is actually an idiot".

I do note the irony that we all write here and don't speak, but point stands.

In fact in two videos, Hooper says:
- Brooks signed 2 years $1.5M - already contradicted by SMH who broke the story this morning as $550K per year, something smoking gun has said is consistent with his info - taking everything with a grain of salt, but two consistent reports usually Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon one

- Moses was offered $3M over 3 years last Friday - I find that VERY hard to believe considering Cooper Cronk is reported to be on $2M for 2 seasons and Corey Norman $2.2M for 3 seasons ($733K p.a.). Again smoking gun reckons the deal is more like $700-$750.

- Woods likely to go to Bulldogs because… the internet?

- Tedesco likely to go to Roosters because they have come in with a late offer, but nothing about Tigers response to said offer.

- Moses' next contract is not about money, it's about player development. Funny that, not about money but he wants somewhere between $750K-$1M anyhow. Hooper is just regurgitating statements from last week, but you can't say XYZ is not about money when you are attempting to pocket industry-high wages. Just be honest Mitchell and say "it is definitely about money, but it's also about other stuff too. But I do this for money first and foremost".

- Eels have sold Moses a "blueprint where they can turn him into one of the best halfbacks in the game". I believe Benji Marshall is familiar with this blueprint, non? And how are Eels going to weave this magic huh? If you have a bucket of sets in the Dragons 20 last week and you offer SFA in attack, that's the club's fault, another club can turn that around for you?

- The Eels "vision" includes Scott and Ma'u (Hooper referred to him as "Manu Mao", as in Mao Zedong, what a DH) being "his bodyguards" (does this include on weekends?) and Corey Norman as his halves partner. So Eels are going to make Moses one of the top HBs in the game by surrounding him with quality players who make up for his clear shortcomings! Too easy.

- Tigers said to Hooper they pulled the contract this morning (confirmed in WT statement this afternoon), but Moses' camp said they declined the contract AND THEN Tigers pulled it, so they asked for a immediate release. Right, so if you decline a contract and the other party withdraws their offer, what do you expect? If you are upset that they didn't counter-offer, that's call calling someone's bluff and coming up empty handed.

Quality journalism / hack reporting. He might as well get a youtube channel and spruik vitamin water on the side.

Bye Mitch.

His whole career here will be best remembered for constantly talking about his contracts.

There are plenty of players at the club who aren't good enough for the NRL. But Moses was the only one who wasn't playing as a team.

I am prepared for a full rebuild I feel we will pay overs for Woods to keep Teddy as I don't reckon he signs without Woods.

As long as we keep Teddy this is a non issue. Moses is a spoilt brat who plays for himself. We shouldn't have to pay a cent if we allow the release however, Parra can absorb his entire contract

The only solid facts we've got to go on is the Tigers statement, which said the offer was withdrawn until the salary cap picture is clearer, when it will then be revised. Moses dropped his bundle and went straight to Parra. Without giving any credence to Hooper, this is straight from the club. Now I understand how Mitch would be feeling, but he's had the offer on the table for a while, and there will be one forthcoming if he was willing to put his head down and actually perform for once.
Says enough about the character of the bloke (after the support he's had from the club and the excess money he's already been paid) that he jumps ship immediately.

Moses had an offer from Wests Tigers he could have signed for months..it was revised on Friday… which he could have also signed..Parramatta surely didn't come in with an offer in the last 3 days...sounds like he already decided he was going there from next Year on...

Just like Ben Hunt signed with the Dragons from next Year and Ponga with the Knights etc ..they are still there doing there best for their current Club to get them into the finals...

Not our Mitchell though he wants out immediately so he can develop his footy and play for a team that looks as if it could play finals footy...

Parra must have a plethora of forwards we would like from today onwards

2 for the price of one I say if the price is right

Maybe something we can't see is on the horizon and we are giving Moses the chance to save face …....

I haven't been on for a while but I got to say your post jirskyr is gold. I couldn't agree more on your statements. The media thrive on slit the wrist sort of journalism and I have had enough!

Good Luck Moses, all the best, now we can use your money on some good forwards.

It doesn't matter what our different opinions regarding Moses or the other 3 disciples are,the WTs have given them every opportunity possible to make it in the NRL,Moses cant whinge now when he was given full control of the team by JT and has shown he cant handle it,as for Teddy,as much as most of us love him playing for us,he had a horrific start in FG and only lasted 20 mins, the club stuck by him and now he wants to play with a better club with the chance of playing finals…short memories and lack of loyalty..very disappointed if this is all true...

Taylor on Fox tonight said,"Woods & Tedesco should show respect for tigers and sign contracts". Even though I was not a Taylor fan,I respect his comments in favour of club, that these players ought to also respect, for what they have done for them to date.

Eels aren't willing to trade a player to get Moses this year and doubt they have the cap space to absorb his contract. So MM will be here for 2017\. His attitude will depend on if it's in FG or RG

THIS: "We hedge our bets on this bloke and let a talent like Te Marie Martin leave and let Austin leave whilst on contract because we thought Moses would develop into an elite player and this is the loyalty he shows?"

Every time I heard Moses particularly being interviewed he was like "it's just a game". I get backing our Juniors, I am totally with you on that one…. But if the junior looks like he has half a foot out the door, let them go.

Interesting to note contract offers : Tedesco 4 Years
Woods 3 years
Brooks 2 years
Removes blackmail position Issac Moses has club in at the moment with all 4 players coming off contracts at the same time.
This was the boards fault and now we are paying the price for this major oversight!

Sounds like they pulled the deal when Cronk became a possibility. The timing is all too coincidental.

Friday 3 year 3 million dollar deal.
Monday Cronk is on the market.
Wednesday wait no wait deals off.

I would say Brooks has got in quick and Moses was left high and dry and his release request is because he knows it.

In relation to Cronk, could we really have a halves combo of Brooks and Cronk?

Neither strikes me as a 5/8…

What does everyone think?

In Woods third season he will be eligible as a long serving player

That will be helpful
