BREAKING: Tim Moltzen down at @Wests_Tigers training with suspected ACL injury, ambulance on scene, cameras told to leave @7NewsSydney

Shattered for the young bloke

Just seen a few tweets saying Moltzen has gone down with a knee injury at training. One suggested it was an ACL and an ambulance had been called.

Take it with a grain of salt, as it was posted on twitter. Very sad knews if true.

Shocking news if true for Moltz

Let's hope it is just a scare , the poor bloke has suffered from 2 ACLs and a fractured skull

He deserves an even break

If he has done the ACL again hopefully we can get salary cap relief before the season begins.

Surely it would be the end of him as a Wests Tiger though

Could even be the end of him as a footballer if that is true.
Poor bloke. No luck at all.

Wests Tigers NRL playmaker Tim Moltzen has suffered a serious knee injury at a pre-season training session.

Moltzen was writhing in pain and was carried off the training paddock in an ambulance on Thursday.

It's a devastating blow for Moltzen, who has suffered repeated knee problems throughout his career, including in the season just gone.

The injury couldn't come at a worse time for the Tigers either, with their playmaking stocks already tested by the departure of Benji Marshall in the off-season.

How important does the experience of anasta as a halves option now become, as all other candidates are now with less then 10 games experience?

If he's done another ACL, I'd say that would be him done unless he gets that LARS operation. Here's hoping it's no where near as bad for the young man.

Bikram yoga not working then?

He is the unluckiest ever when it comes to injuries.
Even getting injured twice in the warm up this year.

I would say he is too young for the LARs surgery seeing he is only 25

From what I have heard (and spoke to my orthopaedic surgeon about ), the LAR's is a quick fix for a sportsmen near the end of his career

Otherwise everyone would be having the surgery , it has a quicker recovery time than the typical ACL

Love him or hate him that is tragic for the young man. His headspace must be terrible right now.

Was thinking the exact same thing UD , lets make sure someone is with him at all times for the next few weeks

Nick Malceski of the Sydney Swans has had the LARS surgery. There is only so many times doctors and the player will look at the traditional style operation especially when it hasn't been the most successful. In the end the player and doctor will work out what's best. If he requires another knee reconstruction of some sort and we see him on the field again, I would be very surprised and admire the young man for his determination and bravery to do so.

I hope for his sake its not too serious however it doesnt sound good.
I feel for him.. All the rehab he has gone through to have this happen again is heart breaking.

I don't like the guy at all, but I appreciate that three ACL injuries in 5 years is pretty heartbreaking given all the training, physio and rehab he would have gone through just to get it right again. The doctors may well tell him to have a look at the LARS surgery, since the traditional surgeries don't seem to be doing the job.
