My Vent

How hard is it to teach a team to defend, come up with set plays and a tactical offensive game? Pick a team of 17 from arguably from one of the best rosters in the comp? Yeh i know injuries are a factor but blind freddy can see we need speedy wingers and tactical kicking game, instead we get a game plan of Heighno running at markers and Blair walking into deffensive lines and Marshall trying to play conservitive @ 7 and not running the ball. I am a supporter but some of you will say i am just an arm chair critic, i am prepared to be flamed, but this is just a vent of my frustrations.

The same crud hasn't produced a premiership in the last couple of years, we have come excitingly close but yet we have stuck to the same game plans and crap team selections, okay maybe a couple of things have changed eg serial bombing on the 5 th but imo we need to except things need changing.

Like i said flame me, but this is just my opinion i am happy for Sheens to stay i just wish he would give the team a bit of a shake up and nut out a few set plays and use his bench properly, and have a structured deffensive plan, but he is to loyal.

I just don't like hearing all the time from fans of other teams saying, how about those tigers ay? I am sure others on here cop it at work, over our poor performancesl. That is all.

Sheens is the problem, not the answer,he picks the team and runs the bench,he is way off this year and its time to go.

You should be talking to Sheens. I fail to see how we can help you but I am with you in empathy no doubt. I feel your pain. It's all unnecessary I say.

I hear and relate to your pain, Granto!

What baffles me most about our non-existent playing structure, shoddy defence, lack of speed out wide, weak mental attitude when things don't go our way and the ridiculous usage of the bench is that no one in the League media ever seems to notice them!

I don't put myself in this bracket, but there a quite a few forum members, who obviously know the game well and they can clearly see the recurring problems with this team and the coaching staff's seeming inability to rectify them. Yet the media (ie Gould, Sterling, Fittler etc) all they ever talk about is how the Tigers are a great attacking team that can score points quickly from anywhere … huh???? What exactly have they been watching this year? They are living in the past!

No one ever questions Sheens tactics, except us, yet they really do need to be put under some public scrutiny because it's the same thing year in, year out - this team is going backwards and no one seems to care.

We defend like we dont want to hurt other teams. And we play the same way every week just some weeks we manage to stop other sides. What my vent is how come sheens cant get them to defend week in week out like the better sides or is he not that good of a coach.

In my opinion a few players hold this team together each week and whenever one or two are out we are incapable of putting forward a performance that would scare most sides

If Farah was to get a season ending injury we would finish in the bottom three

Change will be needed to improve in the future , whether it be playing or coaching roster

We want to win the easy way and when it gets too hard more often than not we turn our toes up and throw up the white flag

Not defending the way they play at all, but from my view both Lawrence and Iosefa's tries seemed to be of set plays. Also, Ryan's seemed to be as well - I know peole think it was a fluke kick, but Ryan was running towards the post before Marshall had kicked it - seemed planned to me.

To me the main issue last night was our defense, which was pretty much non-existent. Fix that up and I think our attack structure will look after itself. Admittedly, I prefer Marshall's old playing style and would like a 'real' halfback to partner him so he can return to playing that way, but I'd be happy just to seem him running again. Missing Farah and Moltzen was always going to reduce our structure, especially with a rookie 5/8 who didn't seem to do much in Friday nights game.

The other issue was our kicking game, which was all left up to Benji - Sironen and Humble should've stepped up to take some of the pressure off him with Farah out.
