I am not business savvy, and I know Parramatta Rd is a crap fight in the best of times, but shouldn't we have upgraded Concord Oval and made it our home as well.

I don't know too much about infrastructure projects, but isn't the lightrail being built near there.

Anyway, I know some will shoot me down and that's okay.

It seems totally ridiculous to me @tiggerfan007 to have the COE at Concord and then maybe our home ground at L'pool or Leumah.
A 20k stadium at Concord would have been great.

No one is going to build that.

Looks good

would love the new SFS
Roosters don't have fans anyway and we don't have a opposition leagues club right next door and close to public transport

Except it is in the Eastern Suburbs

and bankwest is in Parramatta so what
Liverpool would be shared with Dogs anyway
we were at sfs once
go back there at least now it is a quality stadium and transport

We are called Wests Tigers and it would be stupid to play in the East. Liverpool is in our catchment area.

Would it be true to say you are anti-SFS as much due to your personal geography as the concept of it being "in the Eastern Suburbs"?

The SFS is truly almost in the CBD, and only a stone's throw from South Sydney. I personally don't see it as some Eastern Suburbs stronghold. I mean, Souths play at Homebush and there's nothing "South" about Olympic Park at all.

No, I would attend all games there as I have done in the past. If it was about geography for me I would choose ANZ but that is my last option. I honestly don't care what Souths do as I don't support them so to me that is an irrelevant argument.

It's relevant when you start talking about the name of the club having a direct bearing on where they should play football.

How many clubs Dont play in the area they are named as @jirskyr

It's very necessarily relevant imo.

I'm not really advocating for it @cochise.
I really dont know Concord Oval area now, so there may not even be enough room to build a 20k stadium.
The last time I was near there was approx 1990 when I worked as a Bus Driver across the road in Burwood Bus Depot for about 6 months before I transferred to Ryde Bus Depot for 15 years.
But I reckon it would be a great place to have our shiny new boutique Wests Tigers Stadium anyway.

Getting approval now days to build upto a 30k capacity Sradium at Concord would be near impossible with all the NIMBY's that would come out.The area has changed so much since Concord Oval was redeveloped for RU with a lot of units being built. Also the Bulldogs played a couple of hone games out of Concord back in the day and from memory it didn't continue for very long for what ever reason.

I don't follow AFL at all, can't stand the game and the princesses and show-ponies that play it, but, dont they use just a couple of big stadiums for their Melbourne-based teams? They've moved away from the "suburban" team having a suburban homeground?

I think the importance of the name of the team, the venue they play from and the performance of the team is overrated these days.

Melbourne is a completely different kettle of fish to Sydney.AFL is a religion and back in the day you supported the team in the area you were born until the day you died. The other thing unique to Melbourne is the close proximity the teams are to each other and hence the need for the Swans and Lions to move interstate to survive

Except it is in the Eastern Suburbs

It’s on the outskirts of the CBD, a long way from the water.

It is in the Eastern Suburbs though, no denying it.

Irrelevant

I disagree, I think it is stupid for a club that is called Wests (named for being Western Suburbs) to have their home ground in the Eastern Suburbs. People complain about not having an identity then propose options to muddy that identity more.

we are West of the CBD
Wests tigers

The SFS isn't Wests of the CBD?

no but wests tigers are and the COE is West of the cbd so we can be anywhere in Sydney in theory
we would be silly not to look at a really good stadium with public transport and no fan base in the Roosters

I would much prefer Liverpool over the SFS or ANZ

I don't want to share with Bulldogs we will be the poor cousin
ANZ would be the sensible option if not SFS

ANZ is a hole

So is Liverpool.

Get bashed in the car park at Liverpool

Probably. You'd want to dress down (Tigers jersey) and leave your wallet at home.

Never been there … never had to ?
Heard stories ..mainly on the 6pm news

Like tonight. A fight in the KFC carpark over a parking spot.

get robbed on the way in to the ground or come back from watch a 30 -0 flogging and see no tyres on your car

Redfern used to be like that is that why Souffs don't play there anymore?

I think campbletown if you had to at least might work Liverpool is not a desirable destination to go see games like Belmore is not either

Campbeltown isn't desirable either.

It's Leumeah one of the only grounds that has a rail connection on its door step a Leagues club 50 m from the entrance and easy access to M5 and M7 road networks

Yeah it would be great if it was redeveloped, it ticks all the boxes. Unfortunately I can't see it happening. Basically it is an Labor electorate and won't get the funding needed from this State Govt.

Unfortunately it does not tick any boxes for me. There in lays the problem ....... no ground will tick all the boxes for all the supporters, we all have wants and realistically there is no simple solution. Personally I think they missed a huge opportunity by not redeveloping Concord into a 20,000 seat stadium. We are a very diverse supporter base which needs to be catered for. So good luck to the board in sorting that one out. My short term solution would be to play half our games at ANZ and Campbelltown until they make a decision, but a long term decision must be made soon otherwise we will be going to Brisbane to watch a home game!

Stadiums need to be at least 30000 capacity any less makes it elitist when it comes to block buster games when only the entitled get the opportunity to attend

I reckon a 20k seating capacity would be great @Elderslie_Tiger .
Obviously a lot cheaper to build than a 30k capacity.
The ground would be nearly full of fully full? every game giving great atmosphere.
And if you class Wests Tigers members as entitled, well there's nothing wrong with that.

No nothing wrong at all but not everyone is in the position to pay for a yearly membership and would select various games each year to attend and if capacity is limited to 20k would lessen the chances of attending the games

So we need to make a decision and it's a BUSINESS DECISION not one based on sentiment what ever decision is made it will take us deep into WT'S future and at the moment we have people who can make a BUSINESS DECISION especially now we are in a positive financial position.

We all can sit in the Terry Lamb or Mortimer stands .. don’t want WSS as you share with PARRA but OK sharing with the Dogs which will be there stadium there land so how is that any different… the actually place that is the best situated for all of the Sydney basin Tigers supporters is WSS! Go figure .,

so true
Liverpool Stadium
Terry Lamb Stand
Steve Mortimer Stand
Bullfrog Moore Function Room

You are just making stuff up.

I’ve lost count how many times I have tried to explain to him that where the stadium would be, behind the Whitlam Centre, is Tiger territory and Bulldog territory isn’t till you go over the bridge down towards Moorebank. Dude does not comprehend.

As a Liverpool local, I walk that parkland and sporting ground area most days and think what a huge expanse of land it is and its potential to host a great stadium at some stage in the future.

And as @GNR4LIFE said its apparently in an area classified as Wests Tigers territory, so We will be the major tenant the same as Parra is at WSS, with The Dogs playing 2nd fiddle to Us.

When choosing the best location for a homeground, The WT will be making a very important business decision, their decision will be largely effected by what majorly concerns any business and that is Profits, and knowing that these profits come from fans/customers, Whether the fans ask for it or not, and as the WT territory is a vast territory, the WT would know that, to achieve maximum attendance and therefore maximum profits from a proposed one homeground would very much be reliant on it's location.

I’d be prepared to play the long game and play the majority of our games there while we wait for redevelopment.

they are getting a big screen installed for women's soccer 2023 world cup and ready for 2022 afl season.

It will be a very important business decision indeed when you look at what's available around the COE there is no way WTS will leave Concord majority of players I believe live around the Breakfast Point area and other recently developed areas around Concord.
So being ruthless and going for the one homeground you would cut LO & CSS from your list which brings Stadium Australia into play with Souffs probably relocating back to Moore Park area there that will leave Bulldogs as the only tennant at SA.
SA would be the best option until another option becomes avaiable. All the sentiment and BS needs to be taken out of the decision so as the best decision is made for the FUTURE and not living on past glories of Balmain and Wests

they seem to think ANZ will get some upgrade as the stadium for GF for 25 years and big screen going in and big event stadium for Sydney
I think wests tigers hold there nerve ANZ will get an upgrade and we can move in and own it

NEW LIVERPOOL STADIUM ?????? I think would be the ideal place almost smack in the middle of our catchment
CSS depending on what the plans are with the new A league and redevelopment we may of missed the boat there.

All the sentiment and BS needs to be taken out of the decision so as the best decision is made for the FUTURE and not living on past glories of Balmain and Wests

with our COE footprint down the road at Concord it makes SA the best option swamp the Bulldogs own the area

Looks good

would love the new SFS
Roosters don't have fans anyway and we don't have a opposition leagues club right next door and close to public transport

Except it is in the Eastern Suburbs

Must be horrible living in fear

they seem to think ANZ will get some upgrade as the stadium for GF for 25 years and big screen going in and big event stadium for Sydney
I think wests tigers hold there nerve ANZ will get an upgrade and we can move in and own it

Interestingly I just passed ANZ today and the ANZ naming has been removed from there Eastern side at least .
The stadium will definitely be Renovated within a couple of yrs .. I actually think as a previous posting that if the club are looking at that option well just go there next season and be done with it the agreement is already in place and one game at Leichhardt as event game day .
What I do not like is having WSS premium memberships and the club just decides to play at ANZ for a certain game or games if the team hits its straps , just make the choice and move on !

Needs more than a minor upgrade.
