30k outdoor arena planned for Liverpool by the council ?

Plans only, no money. It would be a disaster. Of all the time I have been alive I have never thought for one second that Liverpool is home to the Wests Tigers, Western Suburbs Magpies or the Balmain Tigers. It’s a rubbish idea.

If you look at the train map Liverpool makes the most sense. It's accessible from Macarthur and inner west.

Being located next to a cbd with bars, restaurants, entertainment and business makes sense also.

Liverpool is the most strategic location for Wests Tigers. But just need to get in there and own it before Liverpool.

Your funny. It’s a dead zone, not going anywhere. The worst place for a Wests Tigers home ground. It would see the end of the franchise.

Maybe if people refuse to go there because it isn't their preferred option.

Maybe it’s because it’s Bulldogs territory or maybe because it’s just in the middle of nowhere. You think the Tigers are made fun of now in the media, Move them to Liverpool and it will be relentless mocking. The joke of the League. Never ever will Liverpool be home to the Tigers. The Media knows it, the NRL knows it. Only the few that live close by want it there. It will be the beginning of the end for the Tigers. Enjoy watching games with the crickets as the fan base slowly dissolves before your eyes.

? right. “Couldn’t even get the move to the southwest right”.

If we are going to make that move it’s got to be Campbelltown. Even if it’s just the current stadium. The MacArthur Bulls will always be based there so eventually it will get a refurb (maybe when the Libs lose office)

They either havent yet happened, are fabricated... They're just not correct and also made up

Except they are not made up at all. History has shown us who's territory Liverpool is, and it is the Bulldogs. Also don't forget the Bulldogs wanted to take over the Western Suburbs Magpies, not merge. If you don't think that this is still on the agenda for the Wests Tigers then you are just plain wrong. Wests Tigers are currently in a very weak position politically, having never been in the finals for 11 years, they are viewed as an option the merge/relocate by many. Liverpool would be a disaster and the beginning of the end of the franchise.

We are a relocation risk, so why move outside our area? Why be a club that represents the Western Suburbs playing in the Eastern Suburbs? You arguments are illogical.

Get over the it’s in the Eastern Suburbs crap, it’s not at Bondi Beach. It’s on the outskirts of the Sydney CBD in an specifically designed sporting and entertainment precinct that has 10s of thousands of people through the venues every week (excluding Covid restrictions). It’s within a reasonable distance from Wests Tigers HQ at Concord, Wests Ashfield and whatever is built on Victoria Rd at Balmain. Playing at this ground will only attract supporters and the right kind of media.

I don't have to get over it mate, it is fact it is in the Eastern Suburbs. We are called Wests Tigers for a reason. You raised us being at risk of relocation, no better way to do that than make such an illogical choice, we would represent nothing.

It’s a nonsense argument, the name is just a merger of the Western Suburbs Magpies and the Balmain Tigers aka Wests Tigers. It has nothing to do with any map direction. It’s just a name and has no geographic significance. If it did we would be located up at the Blue Mountains, you know west of Sydney.

The clubs operations are totally 100% in the inner west of the city .. there is no reason why the SFS up the road from central station would not be a logical choice .
There are three great stadiums to choose from in the city , inner west and west there is absolutely no reason why one of these will not Fulfill all of the clubs requirements all have great transportation links and everything for a game day !

I want Wests Tigers to have the best facilities (Concord HQ COE) and the best ground and that’s SFS given that ANZ is not being redeveloped. Anything else is seconds.

Notice that the Dolphins have dropped any reference to Redcliffe in their branding. Wests tigers have a broad diaspora with most of that weighted east of parramatta I would guess. My view is that if we were a well run club and a powerhouse we would be huge at the SFS. We are not a well run club so I can accept that we cling to geographic relevance by “claiming” the south Wests at Campbelltown and attempt to be a poor mans Penrith but Liverpool just ain’t what we need. Bulldogs will consume us and it will be Bankwest all over again. We are a soft club and we get bullied very easily (see every contract negotiation in the last 10yrs). Gus Gould will use us to get a stadium built at Liverpool and then he will bully us out of the area

To be honest, I'm just over the illogical arguments, we can't share with Bulldogs at Liverpool because it will be their stadium, despite being in Wests Tigers catchment but we can share the Roosters and possibly the Rabbits in the middle of their areas. Make absolutely zero sense that I am surprised an intelligent person can keep pushing it.

If we are going to go one stadium it should be central and easily accessible to fans in both our traditional areas.

Now if the club decides to have a ground that is not my preference as a home ground I will still be there cheering on my side, it is a shame others won't do the same as they are happy to put the team at risk over a decision that has to be made and can't please everyone.

I want the club to survive and thrive, it isn’t going to do that at Liverpool.

It isn't refusing to attend games based on the choice of stadium either.

>.

And despite the fact we share Parramatta Stadium.

The bottom line is the Tigers are going to have to share one of the modern stadiums as most other major sporting teams do . If not and continue to play at out dated suburban grounds that continue locking out the majority of its supporter base they will perish and this is exactly what many power brokers want !
If the club wants to become a major force in the Sydney basin there are 3 Stadiums to choose from that will give them that edge ! Just need to pick one ..

I. Must say @mike your entire argument is made up of things that haven't happened or you think might happen... Not really strong.

Just upgrade Cambo.... If people.dont wanna follow the team because of the ground or where it is.... Looking at you.... Let them go follow dolphin

Getting a bit tired of this "if you don't like it, go follow someone else."

Maybe people have valid points, maybe people care about the future of the Tigers.

They are voicing opinions and deserve better than - "Go follow someone else"

Disappointed in your statement although you are not the first to voice it.

Yes I know - I should go and follow someone else!

@Russell
Mikes points aren't valid... That's who my posts directed at.

By that logic Liverpool is in the far southern suburbs of Sydney and should be the home to Souths.

Really? Are you trying to say Moore Park isn't in the Eastern Suburbs?
