And from memory he was overpowered in the softening up period by a schoolgirl (the priest, not parish - although he probably was a parish priest - just to further confuse things) … Think I'll have pea soup for lunch.

If the Folkes rumor greets the judge ... Then that'll be a nice continuation of the publicly stern faced, personality free, cards close to chest, old school persona style of coach ... Still, if he gets results who cares about his lack of PR polish ( and as has been pointed out, he doesn't have scary eyes).

If Georgallis, Payten, SImmonds, or Gentle were to become coach id cry.

I wouldn't mind Payten actually. Easily the most underrated player of his generation. Great footy brain. Can talk to Forwards and Backs. Seems to be doing a fantastic job where he is now. He's done as much as Ricky Stuart did in terms of coaching before he went to the Roosters.

It would raise eyebrows but I certainly wouldn't cry.

Not a fan of anyone who has played with half the squad, as far as I am concerned Payten would be a perpetuation of the boys club mentality we are trying to shake.

Payten does appear to be a great coach in the making. Always had a great footy brain and hasn't been afraid to make some tough calls by dropping 'star' players…even dropped a bloke after winning a semi final against the minor premiers, I could never imagine sheens doing this.

However you would want him to coach some lower grades for 4-5 years IMO. We all saw what happened with Nathan brown at st.george. Undoubtedly a young star coach but thrown in too early.

If its Parish I don't think his super league coaching record means much.
Firstly 6 games is hardly time to build the team he wants.
Secondly it's Salford, they suck anyway.

Matt Parish Pleased to meet you.

Think we should sack the courier and suggest he does no more deliveries to Concord …

HOME LEAGUE NRL PREMIERSHIP LANGER QUITS AS BRONCOS ASSISTANT
Brisbane Broncos champion Allan Langer quits as assistant coach with the NRL club

Langer ... has quit his role with the Broncos. Source: Peter Wallis / News Limited
Former Brisbane and Queensland halfback Allan Langer has stepped down from an assistant coaching role with the Broncos.

Langer will take on an ambassadorial role with the NRL club after being an assistant at Red Hill since 2008.

The diminutive Langer, who led the Broncos to their first premiership in 1992, said he had no desire to further his coaching career and was looking forward to taking on a more relaxed role.

He added the move will give him more time to dedicate to an ambassadorial role he already holds with the Queensland Former Origin Greats organisation as
well as development work he assists Queensland coach Mal Meninga with in Papua New Guinea.

"I always enjoyed the camaraderie and I loved playing, but certainly coaching was never my forte," Langer told News Limited.

"I spoke to 'Hook' (Anthony Griffin, coach) after the season during our review.

"The last off-season I did some corporate work and missed the pre-season so it's been pretty much happening for 12 months."

1\. Winning mentality as player
2\. Winning mentality as coach
3\. Spent two years with us as s&c coach, both years we made the top four
4\. He left us on good terms
5\. He's won premierships as coach and player
6\. Will add mongrels to the roster not show ponies
7\. Has been apart of the Bulldogs culture, where winning are the only results wanted
8\. Responsible for the dragons defence this year, 4 best in the league
9\. Wants to be a NRL coach again
10\. Call's it the way it is, plays no favorites

Now line up all the candidates. How do you think they stack up.

Is there any chance that if the old boys now at Cronella like the new Tigers coach they would break their contracts and return to Tigers? Every 1st grade player at Tigers could then play in 1st grade happily and forever after. Get real boys this is rugby league not a social club.
