I'd have 1 at NSO in the first year then that's it. Allianz or Central Coast for their home Sydney game after that. Locking fans out has never seemed right to me.The missus and I are Bears members, North Sydney oval is less than a 10 min walk from our place and there is a great pub across the road that is packed pre/post game.
Sitting on the grass on a sunny afternoon watching the Bears play is a great afternoon out, only place better is Leichardt.
I'm excited they are back in the NRL, they have had some great young players come through NSW cup (Faalago the most recent) and have been minor premiers the last 2 seasons - there are a lot of passionate Bears supporters on the North Shore, I hope they have at least 1 NRL game at North Sydney oval.
I will definitely support them as my second team.
Watch them sign Ponga then the dominoes will fall. Plenty of Poly’s move to WA for mining work so I’m sure they’ll have no issue in dangling a 800k carrot + incentives to talented footy players from the east costOf course being owned by the NRL the corruption on field will be large.
One area this club will struggle with is they'll have to pay overs for their players.
If you're a Polynesian boy with their cultural attachment to family are you gonna take 700k to basically travel to another country thousands of k's away from your family or take 600k and stay close to them?
Like I said, the corruption will be large.
They’ll be the biggest expansion team since Melbourne, so it’s important they get it right.I live 40km south of HBF park so keen as to have a team here. Big junior competition over this way. The A grade just isn't as strong. With the amount of New Zealanders here definately will see locals eventually play for the Bears in the next few years
Not when there are 2 more teams to fill. Talent dilutes the depth, making those guys that are not quite NRL standard....NRL standard once more. Brodie Croft, Bevan French etc...Not a chance - 99.9% of ex-pat Aussies are only in the ESL because they are either no longer NRL standard or never were!!
Exactly: unfortunately the elite will still gravitate to the stronger clubs. 9 through to 18 will be filled with depthNot when there are 2 more teams to fill. Talent dilutes the depth, making those guys that are not quite NRL standard....NRL standard once more. Brodie Croft, Bevan French etc...
Makes recruitment & retention over the next 18 months very importantExactly: unfortunately the elite will still gravitate to the stronger clubs. 9 through to 18 will be filled with depth
Hopefully they play one or two games a year at North Sydney Oval.
More importantly the next 6 monthsMakes recruitment & retention over the next 18 months very important
Yes that's what makes it so important to be competing this season for the top 8.Exactly: unfortunately the elite will still gravitate to the stronger clubs. 9 through to 18 will be filled with depth
Maybe we can help them out, they are welcome to the dreggs off contract we don't want.More importantly the next 6 months
Perth will hammer everything on the market November 1
She could also tip in that 15 million those netball morons knocked back. 🤣Gina would make a good middle forward.
Will be playing Manly at North Sydney once a year. That should pack the joint.Hopefully they play one or two games a year at North Sydney Oval.
Nah Don, I reckon CEO her position !Gina would make a good middle forward.
Or Jason Taylor, one North Sydney faction is suggesting that they start with a Bears Old Boy, and he’s doing ok at the Dogs. Has come a long way since he left us.They’ll be the biggest expansion team since Melbourne, so it’s important they get it right.
Reports are they are looking at Brad Arthur to coach?
Yeah have heard that’s what’s the bears want but I wonder if the NRL make it the NZ game so neither team need to travel 10 odd hours. The game they would want at NSO mostly would be against Manly
swans were south MelbourneI am happy there is a Perth team but as far as the Bears go, stay in North Sydney. WA should have a brand from their State, not one imported from NSW. What is more WA iconic than the Black Swan or there are plenty of other options.
Swans and Brisbane don't play home games in Victoria though. 100 odd games in Sydney every year but Perth need to play a home game there. That's batshit crazy.swans were south Melbourne
Brisbane lions were Fitzroy
relocation does and will work
in 20 years Perth Bears will be a big hit
well done nrl and it allows when they come to sydney to have a real away team sydney presence
if they were the Perth Pirates nobody in Sydney would give a continental much like the Storm now
it is a master-stroke a better decision than png, they will have perth support and old bears support in SydneySwans and Brisbane don't play home games in Victoria though. 100 odd games in Sydney every year but Perth need to play a home game there. That's batshit crazy.
The Bears have got they brand back in the NRL for zero dollars. That havnt spent $1 or 1 minute here
Nice to have friends in high places.
