NORTH SYDNEY BEARS Perth-

boo boo - boo the bears

Just a little story re the merger.
I’ve got two good friends who have been Bears supporters for life but won’t cop this “token” arrangement. Their attitude, don’t cheapen the Bears history in the hope of manufacturing something.
Their finally comment to me “it’s North Sydney or it’s nothing”.

What a ridiculous attitude....its not cheapening any history its a new chapter.
Reminds me of our fossils here who are stuck pre 1999 in so many aspects

I am happy there is a Perth team but as far as the Bears go, stay in North Sydney. WA should have a brand from their State, not one imported from NSW. What is more WA iconic than the Black Swan or there are plenty of other options.

Not everyone embraces change so easily, and whilst your opinion quite valid there are always 2 sides to every story.
Memories are an important part of life so as a fellow fossil I can relate to their feelings. I’m sure they just are having issues with the Bears being sent so far away. If it was a Sydney merger, like ours, much easier to handle.

Man I knew young guys who got Ink done for the Bears.

There was some passion behind that club. Still move on, either back the reserve grade team forever or just move on.

Of course being owned by the NRL the corruption on field will be large.
One area this club will struggle with is they'll have to pay overs for their players.
If you're a Polynesian boy with their cultural attachment to family are you gonna take 700k to basically travel to another country thousands of k's away from your family or take 600k and stay close to them?
Like I said, the corruption will be large.

Can personally relate to your post...fair point .
Had to laught at Vlandys mentioning 200,000 members all willing to travel to perth....i know thats just spin but im sure qantas and jetstar will be keeping an eye on the draw and jacking up syd-perth flight prices when it suits them

I don’t think this game has ever encountered a bigger self-aggrandizer than PVL.

How did the Polynesians get to Aus if they didn't move from family?

Yeah I think we need an audit of 200000 members. Did that not sound wrong to him when he was saying it?
Why not just make it 1 million members?

You flown West since the Mining Boom Ink?
Prices are always ridiculous.

I've flown to Europe for less...

Well, I guess they're gonna continue to be miserable aren't they.

The missus and I are Bears members, North Sydney oval is less than a 10 min walk from our place and there is a great pub across the road that is packed pre/post game.

Sitting on the grass on a sunny afternoon watching the Bears play is a great afternoon out, only place better is Leichardt.

I'm excited they are back in the NRL, they have had some great young players come through NSW cup (Faalago the most recent) and have been minor premiers the last 2 seasons - there are a lot of passionate Bears supporters on the North Shore, I hope they have at least 1 NRL game at North Sydney oval.

I will definitely support them as my second team.
