Their packs intimidate ours, they get a roll on, and we have no answer. Add to that I bet Mitch Moses & Gutho mark down the round they play against us as they always save their best for us

I think Parra and Raiders always Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon us.
Roosters too yeah...

But yeah we need a few upgrades.
Hopefully 2022 we have some better cattle.

I have a weird feeling we will be a lot more competitive in the next 2 games

even though **both storm and bunnies are better than the side we faced today**

I think credit where's it due, the Eels gave it to us, they just seemed too big, too powerful and too quick for us.

I watched the Storm game, I'm not hopeful (though Munster may get outed?).

Parra only really put the foot on the throat when we had a man in the bin, don’t forget we had Chee Kam playing wing at one point, Garner off the field for a large part of the game and Doueihi & Nofa went off

Add to that Atkins creamed us. Parra will get thumped by a real team & im pretty sure they already did by souffs less than 2 weeks ago

This team scraped a win against the Panthers reserves side, and then they got showed up by a an actual NRL side.

They didn't scrape a win against Penrith. We dominated that game.

As we should have

Yes it is a true reflection of the state of the team. From that, decisions need to be made.

That's all true, but they did what they should have and that was to over power us.
I just wished we smashed Moses and Gutho during the game?

It's not who we are huh?

Most of us predicted this... So.maybe it is a true reflection... Yeh we can be better but the truth is we can't show that week to week

Prehaps the lack of faith from the fans rubbrd off lol, ill have to admit

Honestly, we were much better today than a lot of the games earlier in the season, we had a go today and that can't be said about all games this season. There is just a huge difference in class between us and the eels.

Appears we can go up another gear against Panthers and eels. What’s the story there?

Atkins is a clown and should never be allowed to referee eels games. His family is slime royalty

is he related to the quadruple try debutant Jordan Atkins?

Nope. His father is a life member and former nrl player Graeme, his uncle was a junior pathways coach and still involved I think and and I believe his grandfather was also senior there awaits back.

That explains alot after today.

Really loomed forward to that game yesterday but the game was spoilt from the beginning by a referee hell bent on officiating the game out of control, this game was all about the referee and his continual six agains. Close to 70 % possession rate to a good nrl team will eventually deflate any team and then to make sure he ruined the game straight after half time he further sin bins what should have been a penalty. Finally when the game is over for all intention purposes he by todays standards sin bins what should have been send offs. I believe the side really put in this game BUT finally failed under fatigue. Didnt think I would ever say it but for the first time in my life iam starting to turn off league .

It is hard to fathom how the Blore jumper pull can be compared to Siva high tackle and attract the same penalty. The light jumper pull had no bearing on a try not been scored.

We lack the manpower and shape in our backline to take advantage of opposition players getting binned. While Parra have the backs ready to pounce on that opportunity. Blore gets binned 3 minutes into the 2nd half and Eels score 3 tries in 4 minutes all scored by backs.

They have both bullied us for years and I’m a fool for thinking today would be any different . It’s just frustrating

Frustrating until you realise parras style won't win a premiership. Add to the fact they stay down slot and complain to the ref constantly and I see a side that needs everything to go there way to put scores like that on.

Did you see when that cat Gutho started to stay down then Seyfarth yanked him up by his jersey ?

Christ I hate Parra

Yesterday was a culmination of factors - my confidence dropped as soon as Mbye was ruled out. Walters hasn't done anything special in KOE - he was never going to shine in FG and in a position as important as 6...it took away an attacking option as Brooks was our only option in the middle of the field.

The refereeing was certainly ordinary but we didn't help our selves with mistakes - completion rate was down compared to recent weeks and a 71% completion rate with 46% possession, you're not going to give yourself a chance unless your team is stacked full of SOO quality, and ours is not.

We didn't have the cattle to then account for injuries, losing Garner, Nofo and Talau (injury), Blore (sin bin) and Doueihi and Laurie (HIA). We just couldn't adapt and stick with the Eels who enjoyed all the field position. I don't think the players threw in the towel yesterday, I thought they tried but the fatigue under defence made us sloppy in attack.

Honestly agree that we weren't far off.

Get rid of Walters, talau and Jimmy the jet and add Gildart, ken and Hastings in that side and we immediately look more threatening while being better defensively.

Can go on about the sin binning and that but we losses it after 2-3 bad calls by the ref in the first half. Twal interfering which he didn't even touch the bloke, Laurie getting 6 again against for a tackle he didn't play at as well as Parra staying down on two occasions for nothing gave Parra 4-6 more sets and field.position. Add to that our mistakes and then we were cooked.

We still would of losses but if the ref hadn't intervened for them so much it would of ended up 10-14 point loss.

Walters for Mbye not only ruined our attack, Mbye’s defence lately has been first class whereas Walters must have missed a dozen tackles by half time. I know it was Papali’i most of the time but that just helped the Eels to get a super roll on through the middle. I hate to blame individuals but that was a massive difference from the past few weeks.

Parra were willing to come off the back fence in their first-half sets and we were not. Ref decided to heavily reward that dominance in the contact battle and we didn't adjust. A lot of those 6-agains - very very borderline at best, in fact I could barely tell what half of them were for. Things like Nathan Brown skittling into contact, getting pretty well tackled, then somehow earning a 6-again for thrashing around a bit.

Parra were basically only pinged for first-tackle infringements, which I understood the NRL was supposed to be penalising more heavily. Moses did a horrible one on Nofo after Seyfarth won that captain's challenge, holding onto Nofo to a farcical extent, even after the ref already called it, but no further action taken.

It's a tough one because my initial reaction was to say "well Parra were rewarded for their effort in the collision and we didn't adjust". And that in many ways is true, but also if the ref decides to handle a match in a particular fashion, that favours a style of football you don't play, then what are you supposed to do?

Similarly, Eels iced the game with 3 tries whilst Blore was off. Blore being binned was fair. When Sivo was sin-binned, we only managed 1 try and we needed to pile on points. But we'd already spent some 50 minutes with 35% possession, so you can't suddenly shift gears when you've done so much defensive work.

There are better sides than us that showed, when you also don't get the ref heavily managing the ruck with 6-agains, they match then overpower Parramatta - teams like Souths and Manly the last few weeks, and Tigers were so very close to beating Rabbits.

Also based on everything we've seen since Magic Round, Sivo should have been sent off.

It's as bad a high shot as I've seen during that period; even if you consider the silly Coby Hetherington one as not a good baseline for comparison, all the other ones were players were marched were as bad as the Sivo one - very high facial contact, stiff arm, blood drawn from player's face, player removed for and fails HIA.

Now I'm fine if NRL decides the Sivo contact is sin-bin and not send-off, but that's not how they've been reffing it the past month.

Sivo is facing suspension (MRC) for his grub act as he should be.Brooks and Amone getting fines only.

Mbye out was massive, mostly due to the lack of depth. You could see that they targeted the area around Walters and Lucy.

You could argue that maybe AD could have filled in at 6. But earlier in the year it was shown that we don’t have a winger / centre able to step up to first grade.

I’m assuming Walters was picked because he had played first grade before and not totally sucked.

I find most on here are always keen to promote a young kid from KOE, even though it is shown time and time again the difference between the leagues is so vast. Do people now realise Cini is probably further away from a full time NRL spot than he was at the start of the year? Coaches don’t remember the good game that he did a few good things, they remember the game he dropped multiple catches and and played a rather large hand in losing because his body and mind wasn’t ready for consistent NRL.

Mikalake out was also trouble as we struggled after that first rotation of props.
