Very interesting comments by both Benji and James Graham.
What was said ?
I can’t recall it word for word.
Firstly they goad Benji into having some emotion for the tigers and his reply was spot on. “That was last year whilst I was a Tiger and I’m now fully invested in Souths, the success and failure of the tigers doesn’t bother me.” Fair enough I thought.
Then he says as an impartial analyst I’ll provide some answer and he says it doesn’t look good they are playing poor. But straight away defended them. “They played two top 4 teams in the opening rounds” would you have picked them to win it?. Ikin replies it isn’t about wins and losses, it’s about effort. And Benji replies I agree with that. Then he said “I will say one thing. Everyone says the tigers hinge on the success and failings of Luke Brooks. He is only 1 player of the 17. Everyone is failing at the moment.” James Graham steps in and says “it really doesn’t look like Michael Maguire side at the moment.” Explains in detail about the type of side St Hellens / Souths became tough defensive sides and that the tigers don’t appear to have responded to that style the same way. He said “it’s really going to make or break Madge’s career. Does he go harder on them or soften up a bit?” Benji pipes up and says “we’ll he went harder before and it didn’t change anything so maybe he’ll have to go the other way”
