NRL announces rule changes

can already see us losing to the first ever two point field goal in the dying seconds after Brooks put a 1 pointer over 40 seconds previous that put us ahead.

These new rules still don't benefit dairy farmers. There are no rules against milking a penalty.

Having players have to leave the field if the trainer stops the game will help. There’s still plenty of instances where a player milks a penalty and then jumps right back up, Nathan brown style

a play-the-ball restart if the ball or player with the ball goes over the sideline;

Handover first, or does the attacking team get to flirt with the sideline with impunity or throw loose passes without consequence?

2 points for a field goal 40 meters out..

Tell me everyone.. who can land one from 40 out from the tigers 😂

lol, I was thinking bring back Pat Richards. He can knock it over from there from the sideline 40 metres out* with an eye closed, whilst hopping on one leg.

I think the 6 tackle rule has its problems. The spectacular wingers tries are great, but the demise of the running half is noticable. Its become a tactical kickink game,2 OR3 up then get in oppositions 25 and hope for an error, its very predictable.Only as a thought because i hate constant rule changes, maybe an 8 tackle rule, and the 6 again rule i think is to harsh and should be reduced to 4.This would bring halves and centres back into the game.

2 points for 40m field goal would have been great when we had Benji! haha.

But i'm happy with the rule changes. I think NRL has done well last couple of years.

Two point field goal - rubbish and changing the fabric of the game. Leave the game alone!!

Its only for 40m or more out, so I dont think many will try. Except for desperate situations.

The coach says theres only 2 min left and we're only a point behind now go for the 2point field goal, go go go.
and the chances of winning this game with a 2point field goal would be similar to the powerball jackpot 1: 134.4 million.

One rule not mentioned here but will be implemented is
If you are caught with your pants off at the ruck and have received a cash payment, make sure you know if the other person bats for the other team before "playing the ball"
If you later get caught in the ruck, don't pretend that you didn't know where your member went.

I hate any rule changes until it helps Wests win a game. Then ill be on board.

Maybe clubs should be raiding players from AFL so that they can take advantage of the two point field goal 40 metres out?. No, I think the rule is just a gimmick.

Rugby League is a running game,Rugby Union went backwards when the games were all decided by goalkicking at one stage.Penalties won far to many games. What brings the fans is brilliant backline movements, not individuals adept at dropkicking a ball.

The 4 tackle rule was terrible (i played under it).Teams where panicking with the ball because realistically you only had 3 tackles then kick it away

**injured players will be interchanged if a trainer ask for play to be stopped;**

This is a great decision.

Really don't think it's fair.... Genuine cases shouldn't lose and interchange

They will just get around it by calling every player down as a HIA. Unless you are now going to lose an interchange for HIAs as well.

2 point field goal will never happen. Playing the ball with your foot will be discretionary and will favour the big guns whilst the sluggers get pinged constantly, the play the ball from a kick going out might affect teams with bigger forwards that won't get recovery time. One of which could be us. Oh well, more rules to work around I guess.

If they are that injured they would be interchanged..

I think it's an attempt to stop the guys going down 40m away from play with the trainer wanting play stopped..if it costs an interchange for that so be it..they may think twice treat the player whilst play continues for ummm cramp..

Wish they would get rid of the stripping rule if more than one player has been involved in the tackle. This is killing the game.
