NRL GF... My God, what a choice

Trying to decide who to go for in the grand final is like voting in the Federal Election… It's a case of who do I hate less???
 
Im going for Manly. The Channel 9 love affair with $BW is sickening. And I'd hate for that money hungry pig to come back to the NRL and walk away with a premiership and show no loyalty to the game or his club.

Manly have been consistently great for the past decade almost, and continued their dominance post-Hasler. A credit to them as a team.

Two sides that are great to watch, and play tough, yet are incredibly unlikeable. I guess I'll go for Manly, I've seen them win it twice, so I am accustom to it.
 
Just wondering, why do people hate the chooks so much? I mean, people say they bought a premiership which is partly true, but they've had a lot of good players there before this year. SKD, Tupou, JWH, Mitch Pearce etc. They just bought well in the off season. Would any of you be mad if Taupau and Paterson turned out to be as good as SBW and Burgess next season and led us to a minor premiership? doubtt it…

Also, you seem to hate the SBW- Ch 9 love affair. Which I don't like either, but it's hardly the teams fault.....

Personally, i despise manly and i'd be happy to see any team beat them really. But I woulda preferred the Souths, Knights or Cows to do it than the chooks who aren't exactly my fave team either.

I hate the Chooks because they are obviously cheating the cap , and the only reason they haven't been caught is because the NRL tends to make Mr Bean look like a genius
 
I don't really care. I just hope it's as bruising and absorbing as the last time they played each other. I'm looking forward to it.

I wish people could put their hatred aside and look at the grand final as a footy fan. We're in for the best grand final in recent history, if the first semi final was anything to go off. I can't wait to watch them bash the crap out of each other on Sunday. It'll be the tightest grand final for years.

Yeh….should be a helluva game....have got tickets this year, generally go to the GF every few years regardless of who's playing....will be my 3rd Roosters GF in the last 10 years sadly....(lift your game tigers)
 
I'm guessing most hate Roosters cos of 2010 and in recent times they have demolished us. Anything else is speculation (cap, drugs).
Still would prefer Roosters to win this year, will be good for someone other than Melb/Manly to win since 2007 (minus Dragons ofc).

Wont be much in the betting….I think Roosters slight faves about 1.80....maybe manly 2.10

Manly have been so consistently good for the best part of a decade....and their semi finals appearance record is simply astounding....only missing the semis 9 times since 1966

I have many deep seated long time issues with manly. :imp:

so roosters to win, scoring the match winning try of a blatant forward pass.

Lean slightly towards Manly at this stage

Big thing will be how they ref this game , if it is a game that is relatively penalty free Roosters will win imo

And here lays another problem , referees call one game for 26 rounds and then when it comes to SOO or finals it changes

If only all regular season games were reffed the way finals and SOO are reffed. Much more exciting seeing teams earn yardage and earn opportunities rather than being gifted 30 meters by the refs

They are the pariahs of the NRL.

No junior talent investment, a benefactor who is in so tight with the admin and media power-brokers that nothing they do gets questioned and actually a grubbier team then Melbourne which I thought near impossible. Sweet bugger all fan base and were a group of players who are thoroughly unlikable.

Then there is Manly who I really can't stand but have the utmost respect for.

They have money, yeah. Bet you'd love the tigers to have some. I know I would. And what's so grubby about them as a team?

Also, they've made the finals for holden cup since 2010 every time and came 3rd this year. The majority of their team debuted for the roosters.
