NSW Cup Team Announcement: Round 21

Tue 29th July, 03:52PM

Wests Tigers NSW Cup Coach Paul Fletcher has named his side to take on the Newtown Jets in their Round 21 clash on Saturday, August 2.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 3:00pm at Henson Park.

Wests Tigers bounced back last weekend with a tough 30-22 victory over the North Sydney Bears at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, and will look to improve again this Saturday when they take on the Jets. Fletcher’s side got the points when the two teams met back in Round 15, but there’s no doubt that the Jets will be a tough opposition to break down this weekend — especially at home, and on Reunion Day at Henson Park.

Wests Tigers will also be boosted by the recent re-signing of Sitaleki Akauola for the next two seasons — guaranteeing he will remain with the Club until the end of 2016.

Hmm….I'd be surprised if that's the side that takes the field....

Fletch needs to get then up and continue the serge towards the finals

I can confirm Moltzen will play today in NSW Cup. Prob from the bench.

Is anyone going to the game today to watch it? If so can you keep us posted on how Moltzen goes?

That would be good when he returns
Will at least help the centers issue we have ATM
Might not set the world on fire but i'm hoping he has pace left in him after the injury

Dont be like that, Cant be slower than Bodene in Centers for sure ?
On top of that we cant afford any more injuries.

I wont put my house on Moltz but somtimes you have to make-do.

Moltzen has talent. What he doesn't have is confidence and luck. Here's hoping that we'll see him on the field in first grade sometime this season.

Honestly same, I think he is the answer to our centre problem. Hope he goes well. Brooks/Austin will have a great centre paring to work with.

Kurtis Rowe taking his place in NSW Cup team, so he won't be called up to NRl, maybe Brooks will play?

Or will Sironen go to halfback?

Moltzen is very rusty…done some good things...set up both tries..one with a cut out pass to the winger the other with a kick that hit the cross bar for Rowe to score...but has a few kicks charged down one led to a Newtown try...

Hasn't really run the ball that much...

Best for us has been Buchanan Santi and Taukafa

half time Newtown 12 WT - 10
A late charge down of a WT kick in our 30m line on the last minute of the half , that set a good try by Newtown , that will have Fletcher fuming in the sheds .
WT had been under the pump for the first 20 minutes , but fought Back to lead 10-6 before the charge down .
Very healthy crowd here with a lot of WT first graders watching Moltzen first game back .
