Lol no space for an 85k option that sits in NSW cup… It's called having halves depth. I guarantee that Jack Littlejohn is going to be in the top squad because if he isn't and one of our halves go down in round one we'll ruin our second tier salary cap. If he's in our top squad that means that he'll be earning exactly the same amount or more than Te Maire Martin would have cost us because he would have cost us MINIMUM WAGE. We could have just kept him and activated the option on him instead of signing Littlejohn.
The main problem is that he is better than Brooks and Moses. He is, plain and simple, better than them both.
The thing about him is, you can just tell his style will translate to the adult game. He doesn't standout at NYC because of the level of the NYC, he stands out because he has a complete game, he compliments the players around him and they him and his three dimensional threat makes each individual skill magnified because;
a) His ability to put his forwards through holes causes defenders to lay off him, opening up his running game.
b) His running game causes defenders to rush up on him to try to shut him down which opens holes for his ball runners.
c) His kicking game is almost the best in NYC to boot.
Like, he's the most no brainer superstar in the making I've ever seen. The way he's looked in NYC is ten times anything Brooks and Moses showed at the level. The only possible knock on him is his size, his actual defensive technique is really good and better than both Brooks and Moses.
He's a better passer than both, a better runner than both and is at least as good a general play kicker as both. How anyone can dispute it is beyond me.
In pre-season the way he links with guys like Cartwright and Dean Whare is going to have Clearly and Gould juicing from their loins.
The proof will be in the pudding and he will show us in the long run that this makes the decision to let Fifita, Koro etc. go pales in comparison to this one.
