100% agree with this.
I hope I am wrong, but the amount of people thinking he’s going to save us baffles me!

I agree he is not a gun. But he is a massive upgrade over Tui and has been performing well for the Dogs until being shopped.
We are not far away every quality player we bring in especially fullback, hooker or edge back row will make us a much better team.
We are seriously weak at these positions although until he comes it’s madness not playing Thompson at fullback.

That's what I think most people feel. Maybe not the best FB in the comp, but likely better than anyone currently on the roster.

I have watched all bar one of Bulldogs games this year and Mbye is not the Messiah everybody thinks. Has a tendency to allow kicks to bounce, sound familiar. Remember the game against the Broncos. Lost game on the bell for pushing Darius however had ample opportunity to take that kick on the full in the first place. Will be a great addition as Utility.

Did anyone on here actually he's the messiah or anything like that? Most people are guarded but we typically agree he's better than the current FBs. He also has good utility value.

Sometimes a change of location is required to get the best out of footballers, we've all seen it before. Maybe Mbye still has more potential under the right coach, with the right gameplan. He's only ever been coached by Hasler up until this season, and Dessie was trying to force him into the halves role (sound like Johnny Cronk to me).

He's been called into the QLD Origin team, obviously in terms of esteem he's there or there abouts. Funnily enough not a single Tiger otherwise troubled for Origin.

Mbye is a running 5/8, Reynolds is a running 5/8, Tui is a running 5/8, Marshall is a sideways running 5/8.

JT has a fetish for Hookers looks like Ivan is a 5/8 man.

Mbye is a runner there is no doubt the kid can run.

The reason why his not considered a clear cut gun is due to his development.

Like i said its clear cut his biggest asset is his running game and his been told to be a hooker and organising half back in the past.

Mbye position has to be to run whether its full back or a running six but you will get the best out of him if all he has to think about is to run.

A coach has the duty to to provide the best environment he can to nurture his natural ability. Dogs asking him to play hooker 7 and centre set him back given the right coach his got all the attributes to be good.

Siliva Havili would be a good signing for hooker. Hodgson will be back soon and push him out of first grade. Ricky said last week they are trying to re sign him.

He's gone pretty well this season , if you we want a quality back up he wouldn't go astray same as Parcell

All Mbye has to do is follow Woods around and wait for he to reverse into the defence and off load, Whoops they aren't in the same team now my mistake.

Mbye is in contention for Origin and Woods isn't.

Still a chance of coming this year…

Still based on Mbye agreeing to come in 2018 I guess Yoss ??

Or some other reason ??

I believe the club is keen and Mbye is keen. Up to our canine friends I guess…

When did Moses change his mind on sticking it out with the dogs?

Mbye said that he wanted to help the Dogs out of the bottom 4.

lol we already have godinet, mcillwrick and liddle in the top 30 - we'll be playing 2 hookers in this game but still no actual hookers

Hookers play hooker and usually don’t have much versatility.
Each 5/8th option mentioned above can play all different positions.
Reynolds 9,6
Marshall 7,6,1
Mbye 9,6,1
Lolohea 1,2,6

Cant fault him for it, would of been nice for us to get him early.

But as a man once said.. many times … "it is what it is"
