Lawrence is a huge loss for us. His hole running off Brooks and rushing defence has been outstanding. Reynolds is no loss currently he is not our best back up hooker.
ET is a big inclusion will help out the front rowers in defence helping our go forward.
I don’t like Aloai on an edge he dominated in the middle id prefer he starts at prop again. Bring in MCK on an edge and McQueen on the bench. That said Ivan knows best.

Agree. Do we have anyone coming in that does the good things that Lawrence has been doing?
ET does a bit of ball playing, but doesn't hit the holes like Lawrence.
ET's defence is good and tireless but it's more cleaning up than hitting hard.
Lawrence out will be a loss for our dominance. We need someone going hard.

I think Chee Kam would be the best option to replace Lawrence. Been making some good hard runs when coming on this year.

MCK deserves a crack, he has been outstanding.

The guys coming in won't let us down. It also gives everyone match fitness and the hunger to win that starting spot. We gain so much with Taylor making a thousand tackles a game, lose with Lawrence and his go forward. Aloiai will revert to a Lawrence style runner this week. If McQueen ends up playing that'd give us two decent runners, and Mcqueen is good in defence.

Hmm, suspected Lawrence would miss this week but Reynolds is a surprise. Taylor back is a boost though.

If Taylor wasn't right to go Rowdy could have played. .

It's great we have the depth to replace players carrying even slight injury…

Looking forward to see how Aloiai goes playing bigger minutes on an edge....

I think Aloiai will go well, he's playing with confidence and the way he's hitting the line, should prove a handful.

At one stage in previous seasons he and Brooks also had a nice little combo going. Would love to this happening again if can play more minutes. He can be damaging.

Pretty sure McQueen is injured, not named in ISP at all, plus he's not looking ready for FG yet anyway.

Looking forward to seeing Aloiai on the edge. Hopefully he terrorises for us!

I agree. Do people not remember he played 20 games on the edge in 2016? If you think he goes well in the middle, wait til you see him on the edge. That's a really strong forward pack..

For me I'd switch Godinet for Lolohea , ideal bench player for us

I don't know about that happy.

Godinet is the perfect replacement for Liddle on the bench.

Liddle is probably a 50-60 minute player at them moment coming off a shoulder reach. Godinet has been pretty good for me and will be even ettwr in shorter spurts. He tends to get ragged the longer on the field.

Lolihea has been very average the past couple of weeks.

Bloke can play 1-7 and has a better passing game than Godinet and create more than Godinet

Forces him to get involved as well , which wouldn't do Lolohea any harm at all

Named in the 21.
He’s been getting better every week in reserves.
Wouldn’t be out of place and is proven he can step up.

Surely they will replace Godinet with either McQueen or Grant. Chee-Kam can be the utility player, would prefer 3 fulltime forwards and 1 utility on the bench.

Bench:

14 Pita Godinet,
15 Alex Twal,
16 Michael Chee-Kam,
17 Sauaso Sue

Reserves:

18 Tim Grant,
19 Chris McQueen,
20 Tyson Gamble,
21 Tuimoala Lolohea

** Just to point out that due to Gamble being on extended NRL bench last weekend, he didn't play in the Intrust Cup game, and the Magpies, without him, went down 24-25 to Norths team a couple of positions lower than the Magpies on the ladder.

Lolohea (imo) is better in close traffic, that at the back. His speed of the mark from a standing start is his strength. He seems a bit lost out wide and his on goal defence isn't good as other fullbacks. He could cover a lot of positions as a Utility as could Gamble.
If the utility is just there to cover DH, then Godinet.

It’s a different year in limited minutes he has made 84 tackles and missed 5\. He does rush in to shut plays down which does lead to missed tackles.

We need some mobility out wide this week especially on the right to counter Ponga skipping across field. I wouldn’t be surprised if ET plays wide in defence this week. Rochow May struggle against the pace and footwork.

Had a quick look at the Knights forum last night… ( Marathon Stadium) and there are some die hards that are really worried about this game against us.

They are quoting some severe defensive issues that they have out wide.

Finally someone who agrees with me that McQueen is not ready for first grade.

From what I've seen watching him in ISP, I reckon McQueen is the best like-for-like with Lawrence.

He's good for sure mate, but so young… and still a bit light for his height. He'll be a fine NRL player in the future and hope we hold onto him, but McQueen is tough, looking a lot better than 6 rounds ago and plays the same position as Rowdy.

Absolutely. If selected he will not let anyone down
