No he wouldn't. He's hopeless. You could have Wally Lewis next to him and he would still battle.

You sure about that? Everyone said Moses was hopeless too. Don’t underestimate how flawed our system is compared to some other clubs

Moses has always been better than Brooks

Moses on a good day is admittedly better than Brooks in attack, but I reckon a bad day for Brooks is much better than a bad day for Moses, particularly when he is having one of his tantrums.
So imo Brooks is the better player.

Who cares, whether Moses is better or not - I wouldn't want him in my team!

Can't argue with much of that, maybe a bit harsh on Rowdy.
For mine, Garner and Mikeale haven't improved, we need more from them.

**Mbye is like the Boyd of the Tigers,** I feel we're stuck with him, made him captain and he offers zilch.

Yes except Boyd actually played really well for most of his career, Mbye...not so much.

don't get the hate for this guy, not his problem we offered him top dollar. Great defensively, not sure about attack, but at least the last few games the ball barely gets shifted to the centres, I'll reserve my judgement until he gets some clear ball.

It looks to me Madge is gonna make him a running half , could be why were linked to Seizer.
Or maybe he's poo, I dunno.

He already is that..constantly in the top 3 halves for running metres in the NRL..past 5 seasons

For ex he ran for over 100m against the Titans the closest from any other game was about 50 for halves..the only forward that ran more than Brooks in our team on the weekend was Aloiai with 114m..says a lot..

Just a thought...maybe that was the roll Brooks was given by Madge and Benji was supposed to take the lead in controlling the game. Perhaps the reason that Benji was the casualty from last week was simply that he didn't do his job and execute Madge's plan.

Lots of brooks hate. Personally I’ve always seen him as a 5/8. His game management can be good sometimes and other times it’s not, he’s at his most effective when he’s running the footy and his short passing and short kicking are his strengths.

Long kicking to help control a game is something he struggles with and when our forwards aren’t rolling he struggles to get involved. All those things point towards him being a 5/8 for me, we need a half who isn’t fancy but can just kick to corners and control a game with simple footy.

I can’t agree with people saying brooks is terrible and needs to go. He’s been back to back player of the year for a reason, when the team is firing he is always one of our best. We missed him severely in the first two rounds.

Brooks is an out and out halfback.
From what I see he is apt at mentally executing Madge’s gameplan. The kicks does, the boring bombs are part of that game plan. He never strayed from that on the weekend. He does make technical errors with his kicking placement but it’s more to do with where he is recieving the ball. He plays too flat for mine, but that is so he can get himself and his runners over the advantage line.
His 2 games back into the season your got to remember. His also 2 games into playing with a new Hooker and new fullback.
Early in when Douhie scored in that game. In the play before he was in a position to set up a runner to go over, the only one chasing through was Marshall, coudos for that, but his speed or lack held him out of the play.
When your saying he is a 5/8, I expect a Munster, whighton, Keary type player from him. Your not going to get that, he doesn’t have a boyd Cordner Who runs the perfect line or a victor Radley putting him in position to play off. He gets the team in positions around the park. The ball rarely goes to Brooks before the 4th or 5th tackle. His current sr plays more like a wide running prop. Brooks was last best when Cleary had the team playing with a ethos of hard effort and defencive pressure. A lot of which we lack currently. if you freezeframe the game on the weekend he was constantly harassed by the titans forwards. Equally not one of our players pressured the Titans forwards. Last players to constantly pressure the kickers were Robbie Farah and Chris Lawerence, hence one of the reasons he returns.

Good post. I listened to Peter Sterling last week on Nine attempting to have Moses in the SOO team. Meekly he suggested Moses' defensive frailties have been addressed . What wasn't addressed was his temperament when his forwards are being driven backwards and the calls don't go your way and a team mate makes a crucial error. Not a good look to unload on a team mate in SOO for making a mistake.

Would like to see Doueihi in the 6. Won't happen with Marshall, Reynolds and Walters all capable of doing so though.

who to fullback? and dont say mbye please

Who would you buy - no one off contract better than Doueihi.

No I was responding to the other comment who said doueihi to 6. I personally would leave him at fullback.

Rating all of those players that way (whether we all agree exactly, or not) should bring us back to earth. It certainly makes me remember where we actually are at in this phase of what I would call the "Madge era". Re-shaping the Wests Tigers from where we were after Ivan was always going to be a long haul. As I have said before, we are a 'work in progress' and still have some roster reworking to do. Our pack is young and inexperienced and needs to add some dimensions such as leadership, unity, mongrel, ball playing etc. Our outside backs are average and changes are needed. Our current FB is still learning to play the position. We have little quality depth in the halves, and 2 of our 3 current contenders are past their best.
All in all - if we were to win more than half our games we will have done pretty well this season.

Exactly I wanted to be honest

I am 100% sure of it Gunners. I see what you're saying but I've seen too much of Brooks.

I know if I had the choice of a team mate, Moses would be well down my list. With a guy like that in my team, I'd always have it in the back of my mind, "if I don't get everything 100% perfect for him, he's going to blame me when he can't adapt to the situation."

After last nights game:

Reynolds: Had a good game showed we didnt miss benji at all. some good kicks and chase and high energy like always. If anything should drop brooks for benji this week.

Musgrove: Had a good game also. gets good metres and post contact metres every time he runs the ball.
and he's alright in defence.keep him as a starter with Aloia

Lawrence: He's too old and didnt really do much for us. But will be playing again if lucianos injury is bad.

Packer: cost us the game basically. cya mate won't be seeing him play again for a while

Been talking to my mates and almost all of them say our pack is shit. Saying aloiai is bad, mikaele is bad and twal is alright, lawrence is terrible. and luciano leilua is alright as well. got me thinking the same that our pack is average.

ALoai is a beast along with Mikaele

Twal is a tank and is one of our best

Rowdy is past it

and Lucy is improving heaps

Aloiai has been unreal this year. Best footy he’s ever played, makes lots of metres and lots of tackles and is doing it every week. Hope he keeps it up because he’s been our best prop

i have always felt that brooks is a 9.. very good defensively, quick off the mark, can move forwards around the park and has a good short kicking game. He doesn't have it in him to do the clutch plays as the half. He's still scared to throw the long pass. He prides himself on mistake and risk-free footy which isn't enough as the main attacking player.

As for the middle, I feel we need a ball playing forward. With our halves playing on opposite sides of the field, we need a forward to link our half to hooker. Hooker to half passes are too predictable, no matter the quality of the pass.
