Packer & Reynolds

How bad is Reynolds? the guy has fallen off a cliff. Up there with our worst ever signings, and just the length of the contract means we get to continue to enjoy the fruits of it.

It's obvious Reynolds and Packer went home early together to work on that midfield play tonight, was spectacular.

They typify why we're not a top 8 side. Reynolds continually rushes out of the line and comes up with air. Has a decent short kicking game and that's about it. Packer couldn't even catch a straight forward tip off and simply isn't the forward leader we paid him to be. I so hope Reynolds takes the payday in the UK because his NRL career will be finished at the end of next year if he stays. Packer needs to realise he's past it and retire for the good of the club.

His defence was great tonight ...he snuffed out about half a dozen of our attacking movements ...he looked drunk out their tonight

But, remember that he (allegedly) runs 'invaluable decoy runs;':grinning:

@spacecub you might know why Josh left during that game - if he gave up on playing for the coach, he couldn’t even respect his teammates by showing them support? That’s obviously if there isn’t any personal reason. Saying that assuming there isn’t.

I remember that one good long kick and chase JR did at the Bulldogs and we signed him.. I would love to go back to 3 years ago and see what people's thoughts were on Reynolds at the time.

I still think it's mainly due to injuries and hoping that he has one good pre-season and is able to kick on for us next year.

MEMO TO JREY AND RUSS
JAMES TAMOU put his had up at Pamfers to be released so their young guns can be resigned because he can see what the future holds for the Pamfers and he didn't want to be the one to cause a young gun to be lost to the club Come on guys move over or better still move on.Please.

You’re kidding right ? They are entitled to thier money . I hope they make the Dumb decision and leave for my own selfish reasons , but no way would I give up 800k next year , if especially in packers case , that’s probably my last huge pay day , before I have to become a miner in Kunnanurra . He owes us nothing . The management at the time , including Cleary and that dingus from Canterbury , have a lot to answer for

Where did you hear this mate? Last I heard Panthers offered him a 1 year deal ( most likely at reduced rate) but he wanted more. Maybe it changed, but I don’t think it’s quite as noble as you think.

He was offered a one year deal by Penrith. Wanted more security so opted to take the two years with us instead. Said if it was another club offering him the same he wouldn’t have done it.

Tamou wanted an upgraded pension that penrith didn’t want to give him . But we were dumb enough to oblige..
I’d say the Knight in shining armour fluff piece is just that ...
I doubt very much Packs and JRey would walk ...
I wouldn’t.

It's a no brainer. You're not going to walk away from that kind of money for sitting on the sidelines. Just buy yourself a jumper and a better coat and maybe some nice woolen socks and slippers or some mukluks. A nice woolen beanie would also be good, and mittens with Go Wests Tigers embroidered on them.
The no brain bit was offering them their bloated contracts.

Do we go down this path ?? Harsh but might work

Advise both of them that we will not be using them at all next year regardless of what happens and will blood young players instead. Advise them they will not get the opportunity to show case there skills at all so clubs would be unlikely to pick them up the year after unless it's min wage.. I know it's harsh but they are giving us nothing so say to there manager if you can find a club for a longer term deal we will pay a fair share of the first year..

Don't get me wrong as its not there fault we paid overs for them and they derserve the money but could be an incentive. :man-shrugging:

There is a difference..Tamou had clubs interested, our two basically have zero interest from clubs in the NRL

JT tried this with Farah, it was a disaster, Madge surely isn't as stupid as JT, we have enough problems with the media without hand feeding them, good old Crawley would go to town on us, again.
