Packer

Benji provides the only flicker of playmaking light in the inside backs IMO regardless of whether hes paired with Brooks.Walters orReynolds...
The other is Harry
..and both may be missing next season
Also, our centres last w/e have no idea how to beat their opposite ..so theres no penetration coming out of the middle.
Both our wingers DO have impact but little pace..hence the grind every week against the better teams

I used the slow motion version. My favourite.

Who else was yelling at Ferguson to let him go

I thought Ferguson was holding him trying to pretend nothing was wrong so they wouldn't send him off for a HIA. I was wrong, and in hindsight, he really did need Fergo to hold him or he would have fallen over.

The crusher doesn't need to part of his repertoire

You fell for the media hype also that was no crusher. He is side on and his hand makes contact with the head and neck. The motion looks bad but that was milked.

No need for that dropping of his weight motion. He had no control of where he was gonna land, it's just boneheaded action. Way too dangerous to let it slide.

It was either a crusher tackle or it wasn't.

It wasn't - another boo boo by the MRC (Total incompetence as usual)

Great post TYGA, Parra were milking for so called crushers all game and they should be called out for it! All their players back into the tackles and grab their heads, but bounce straight to their feet when the whistle is blown?
Rewarded for crying wolf, they should be embarrassed for playing like that!
Call the cheats out!

Unfortunately it’s become a theme in a few games. We are being penalised for taking teams down hard and playing physical. The game is soft it’s why we need better players to finesse victories and win with athleticism rather than aggression. Outside backs are key in our recruitment we need easy points. We fight way too hard to win.

Once you get down to finessing rather than agressive - it's time to give it away and play tiddly winks.

Aggression is fine but we have no game breakers that just create tries out of nothing. Tedesco, Crichton, Kikau, Sivo, Moses, Gutherson, Wighton, Cody Walker, Keary, Tom Turbo, DCE, Papynhuyzen, Addo Carr, Ponga. All from teams better than us.

Our margin for error is too small and our salary cap is poor with Mbye, Packer, Reynolds contracts to assemble a squad good an deep enough to win this way.

We'll win more with agression than we lose, won't win too much finessing imo.

At this stage we haven't got any finessers!

Iirc wasn't Souths the most penalised team in a few of the years madge was there? Obviously he coaches aggression but maybe he doesn't mind the boys skating close to the edge.

Packer was gone the moment he made the motion to push him down. It may not have hurt the guy but it was a bad look and showed intent. Was probably lucky to just get a week imo.

Obviously that's why you couldn't see it wasn't a crusher.

Def: A crusher involves the head and neck, you obviously got confused with his shoulder.

Whatever!

Plane dumb and dangerous.

Forget the definition of crusher tackle ..that's media hoopla..

Packer was charged with dangerous contact at the lowest grade you can..It was dangerous...if he didn't have carry over points for his earlier suspension this year he would have been free to play..

His only option was to contest that his actions weren't dangerous..I don't think anyone could argue that it wasn't..

His chest was above his head, watch it again.
Completely unnecessary given that Gutherson was already on the ground.
What was the point of it?

The problem is players are milking it for all they can and until the NRL do something about it like making the player claiming a crusher to leave the field for a 15 min assessment it will go on and detract from our great game.

On the question of MILKING does it annoy anyone else when the refs call out MILKING on a player in possession and do nothing about it.
A penalty against whilst in possession would fix the problem immediately.

Yes you are right but have a guess which clubs will get called for it and which ones wont.

I just hope Packer stays fit enough and on the field to play against Rorters and sportsman of the year JWH

on that subject, how good does Hetherington look. not afraid to mix it with the heavyweights and certainly got under JWH's skin. I think we're ok for front row depth ourselves but would love to see him in a regular starting role for a team somewhere.
