Parra Trial

Strong looking Tigers side with the notable exceptions being Woods, Fulton, Tuqiri and young Sirro. Big T has played some centre and wing for Wests and Wests Tigers NYC. Given his sprint times have been super impressive, I wouldn't seeing him get a run on the wing given the following:

1) He's 195cm and 115kg and is quicker than Lawrence over 20 metres and only marginally slower than Koroibete over 40 metres;
2) He's certainly quicker than Utai and has a massive height advantage; and
3) Given the above, he could really cause some damage out wide on kick returns, plus if he gets put into space he could prove very difficult to bring down. He may just be a bigger and faster version of Tuiaki.

Biggest unknowns are his defensive positioning and whether he's solid fielding bombs and cross-field kicks.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how Moltzen and Tedesco compare as I assume they'll get 40 minutes each to impress. Looking at the other players on the bench, I assume we'll see a front row rotation of Buchanan, Spence and maybe Thompson. Joel Reddy can count himself lucky to have a spot on there IMO, but hopefully he improves this year under Potter.

Looking forward to Saturday!

I'm pretty happy with that and I'm looking forward to seeing the forwards through the middle.

UTT!

Its a good looking team and it has a few of Potters marks on it - Doesn't feel so Sheensy with the exception of Moltz at fullback.

I'm incredibly impressed with the State Cup side - that would give some FG teams a run for it money - including ours!.

Seeing Blair at 13 is interesting.

DOn't like our injury count already - feels none too familiar.

Don't tell me Woods is out already for a while , can we have a season that's kind to us with injuries .
Apart from Woods and Fulton not a bad side .
Just no injuries …..

Interesting to see Manaia Rudolph at halfback in the 20s game.
Has he played there before,he is usually a five-eight or fullback isnt he?

Went well last year before being dropped too. I never knew why he couldn't make the team.

given woods is out i would have thought that Ava Seumanfagai, would have been given a run in the topside. or are we seeing the same thing from potter as we did with sheens, the nsw cup boys dont get a look in.

It's a trial. At this stage its not unreasonable to start your more experience guys. Ava is playing the reggies game so if he has a blinder I'm sure he'll get a go in the main trial at some point or the week after.

I understand that Manaia was dropped at the back end of the season due to his defensive deficences. The 20s went through a bit of slump and a few players were rotated out. A good move when you look at it retrospectively.

They will run with named teams and see who pulls up how after their respective games, theres always major changes in these games….dont read too much into anything

I'm going with singlet, shorts and thongs so it 's defiantly a trail no pressure or stress …just want to see our club in ALL THREE GRADES didn't think I would see that again . No Sheens what a breath of fresh air and heaps of new guys to watch bring it on and the car gets the Italian tune up !

A close source tells me Rudolph was not given a clear reasoning as to why he was dropped except that it was a 'business decision'! He was not told it was due to 'defensive deficiencies'. I think you will find this was speculated by the media during a finals game telecast but never to Rudolph himself!

And really if 'defensive deficiencies' were the case why didn't Todd put in the extra hours with Rudolph as he did with Sue and Brown to ensure they were ready for the GF?? I mean he did have 4 weeks to iron out any kinks??!!
