Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

Guys some facts have been overlooked here.

The club did not gain a salary cap advantage as of the Farah ambassador role.
Farah was paid out in full in 2016-2017 prior to leaving to Souths.

The timeline is as follows.
August 2015 JT sensationally announces Farah is moving on.
Prior to 2016 season commencing Pascoe is employed and after sifting through the dispute offers a good will gesture for Farah to take on an Ambassador role as he retires. This is start of 2016.
Throughout 2016 JT continues in his pursuit to remove Farah from the books altogether.
End of 2016 / start of 2017 Farah agrees to move on.
SAM AYOUB DEMANDS THAT THE AMBASSADOR AGREEMENT IS INCLUDED IN THE RELEASE CONTRACT.
Now that doesn’t mean it’s signed or not just means Sam has used it as an incentive for ta deal to be finalised that results in Farah parting ways with the club.

The club pays out Farah in full. Some $750,00.

The club then goes to the NRL and asks for some of that money to be REMOVED FROM THE 2016 or 2017 SALARY CAP DUE TO FARAH BEING A DESTABILISING INFLUENCE.

In all the articles I’ve read it does not say whether the NRL PROVIDED THIS SALARY CAP RELIEF It just means that the CLUB KNEW HOW MUCH OF A CONTRADICTION IT WOULD BE IF THEY ASKED THE NRL TO ‘GIVE US SOME DISPENSATION FROM THE CAP BECAUSE OF THE EFFECT FARAHS IMAGE HAS HAD ON THE CLUB, FANS AND SPONSORS’ ‘HOWEVER WE HAVE ASKED HIM TO COME BACK AND USE HIS IMAGE TO PROMOTE THE CLUB IN THE FUTURE’…..
Duh!?!?!

Benny Elias says all the board should be sacked Marina Go should as well and the West’s administration is a basket case … well well Did not take long for the cockroaches to appear always good for a kick in the guts . And this We We We will get over this news flash parasite there is no we !Also the NRL apparently have correspondence from Ayoub who would of thought ! Interesting times ahead .

If you don't cheat you don't get punishment.

Sorry to say it but we cheated.

I think we didn't play by the rules but it's a technicality. Still I think it's good that the NRL is cracking down. They now just have to fine the Rorters who do this all the time and NQ who have done this with JT.

So at worst we used existing NRL salary cap rules to get an exemption on Farah's contract.
It may have been a bit sneaky but thats about it.

Other clubs have systematically cheated the salary cap over a number years involving numerous players yet this is the one they want to make an example of.

What a fix up.

Corrupt!

Isn’t the crux of the issue related to us asking for 30% of the payout being removed from the cap due to damage to sponsors/brand which the NRL agreed, but we then advised of an intent at a later stage to keep Farah at the club post playing career?

If the above is true we have a case to answer and stuffed up regardless if Farah actually signed something or not as our intent would be proven we weren’t ethical and attempted to use a loophole in a dumb way.

As to Pascoe - cmon teams have stuffed up in a huge way that gained premierships which didn’t cost them major heads to drop.

Pascoe is one of the best things to have happened to the Wests Tigers, lets hope our sponsor heads up a legal support to fight this one.

That has been covered by Wests in their statement. The role was offered to Robbie by Pascoe as he believed Farah had been screwed over by Taylor and the board. There was no intent of gain by Wests or Pascoe - in a way it was offering the olive branch for all the rubbish that happened.

You’re missing the point that we actually gained a financial salary cap advantage when he left us. If that occured we stuffed up.

Cannot see we gained any financial salary cap advantage that was not under the rules. The Taylor/Farah saga was causing untold damage to Wests Tigers brand and very divisive amongst team and supporters, as can be seen by the hatred of Farah, even today, by many Tiger supporters. Farahs future role with the Tigers was widely publicised so they cant say they didnt know. Pascoe,s problem can only be he denied the existence of such a contract or refused to produce it.

It's great to stick by your club, but I can't help but feel a lot of us are looking at this through rose coloured glasses.

The fact that Pascoe never reported the proposed deal to the NRL, nor thought he needed to **is a blunder of epic proportions**.

Your average punter knows full well that these kind of deals are scrutinised heavily by the NRL.

If everything was legit and above board, why on earth wouldn't this have been reported, just to be on the safe side?

The fact that no deal was formally signed by Robbie and his manager would most likely have raised alarm bells.

If you're still not convinced, think about this.

- This situation never would have eventuated if Pascoe showed a bit of leadership and wasn't sacking and then bringing back players based on the whims of C rate coaches.

- The alleged post career deal would have been a massive wildcard for Robbie's manager. One leak to the NRL was all it took to end Pascoe's career with us.

Do you really want someone so naive heading up our club? I know I don't.

This is all becoming very confusing. They say Justin Pascoe was the only one who knew about the deal yet it was well publicised when it was all happening - plenty of WTs supporters knew about it -without being privvy to figures - surely Marina Go knew about it too.
Greenburg probably didnt because he clearly doesnt give a rats about WTs.
I cant help but feel this has all been pre empted by someone just not sure who.

Benny Elias - once loved - now despised. Germ.

Love a bloke who introduced the guy who created the end of the balmain tigers thinks he knows best about selecting management.

He's got to take a good long look in the mirror and think about who is really being laughed at.

I really do want Pascoe as the CEO.

I really don't want Farah as an ambassador of anything.

There's a difference between everyone knowing the general concept of broad offer and an individual knowing about the specific details of a written agreement.

Can't post the full article since behind paywall.

Wests Tigers chair Marina Go spent over three hours in meetings with lawyers on Wednesday as the club contemplates taking the NRL to court over the deregistration of chief executive Justin Pascoe.
