Not really. It's more that you swoop from the clouds on any comment that expresses doubt about the fairness or justice of the NRL's decision. Most on here seem to accept that there may have been some element of blame attributable to WT but feel the penalty to be over-harsh based on their knowledge of what went down. I expect we'll all find out more when WT present their case. You could end up being spot on but for now you seem convinced the penalty imposed fits the crime. I'm not so sure.
But you're not the only one on the forum taking a pro-NRL view. To give you credit though, your comments are intelligent and non-personal. I can't say the same for others on your side of the argument.
@ said:As ive said before some of us are just happy to finish 9th. Its a mentality that goes right through to some taking the NRL's side for the ridiculous, unjust and over the top reaction to a minor salary cap indiscretion.
Each to their own and all opinions are valid but im glad im in the group that can see the corruption running through the veins of the current NRL board.

At the start of this mess I believed the same, what is interesting to note is that the articles where Pascoe mentioned the consideration of the role were in 2015, but it appears a role wasn't offered until 2016.
I too hope it is accidental, just not as confident as I once was.

Wasn't Robbie playing for a different club then?

He played for the Tigers in 2016, Souths 2017/18, came back to Tigers 2018

Yes. I thought the deal was agreed to at the end of 2016 at the point that he signed with Souths.
Anyway it seems we have done the wrong thing and copped a massive and seemingly punitive penalty.

I don't believe it to be a minor indiscretion.

The severity of the punishment to the Tigers was over the TOP!!!!
Stop defenders a bunch of losers - time for the unfavorable teams to form an alternate competition I'd say.
Which is what I said, there are people here saying we copped a worse penalty than the others.
Greenburg stated that the commission has asked them to be tougher on Salary Cap cheats. If we have cheated the cap then the punishment is fair in my opinion.
You're kidding right?
Fair - I am glad you are on our side - hate to have you against us.
What would you regard as a fair punishment for cheating the cap?

I think it's a clear breach and deserves some form of punishment. I just want to see other clubs cop this as well. Inglis staying at Souths and Thurston at the Cowboys are examples of the same thing happening as what we did with Robbie. I don't know how the NRL are going to start policing this rule.
We should never have pushed Robbie out and I don't think Robbie has been a great marquee player for us at all. It was a really poor business decision that we allowed an incompetent coach to make.

Those 2 are different though, players are allowed to work at a club post retirement.

$450k fine - $639k taken off our cap ($160k per year for 4 years) - a wrap over the knuckles for Pascoe if he is guilty.
I suspect the Chairperson and the board sanctioned whatever went on - I do not believe Pascoe did what he is supped to have done on his own.
That is if any guilt can be attributed to WT at all. I'll wait for the final outcome.

And Robbie is not allowed to work at a club post retirement ?????
