Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

Like everyone, I’d like to see this whole thing finished, but I have a bad feeling that there’s more to come that we haven’t heard about.
In most cases previously, they haven’t gone after a club without having all the evidence to back up their case.
Can’t see why they have taken this stance against us, unless they’ve got someoneby the short and curlies,
I’m over it and just want it to be sorted one way ot another

I dont know why our knickers are in a knot over this. TBH we were sold out by a rat, yet this is a step in the right direction if we want to play on the same level as the more successful outfits, we just didnt dot our "ï's" and cross our "t's".

The Broncos avoided fair sanctions via showing Gee the door, then reporting themselves to the NRL. Gee was unable to be called in front of the Panel due to no longer being an employee and thus not being under their governing umbrella. A token penalty was applied as his involvement was stifled by their lack of investigative powers outside of the system.

To be honest, Pascoe being able to take on the entirety of the blame in this situation, shows how far we have come on a professionalism front. All clubs would have this sort of dealing in place. We were ratted out to the extent that a hidden document was requested… yet the situation is that messy that we still have a case to argue.

One of the few posts on this topic i whole heartily agree with.

If we claim any kind of innocence and believe this to be true go for the throat and make the NRL feel the legalities of their corruption.

They are incompetent as can be seen from their running of the judiciary, refereeing and generally everything they touch.
They are corrupt because they only go after the clubs without clout when the heat comes on. They never give the roosters or bronco's any thorough investigation, let alone find anything.
So in my opinion they are both incompetent and corrupt, they do both, and do it easy

The perennial offenders.
The whole peptides thing was a joke. Backdated suspensions!?!
Then Keough supplying (or whatever) cocaine. The salary cap breach. Flanagan’s failure to comply with an NRL sanction.
Yet our CEO puts the game in disrepute. Pfft.
It’s very hard to take that the Sharks damage to the NRL’s image is currently only worth $800K.

Sorry, but if they are corrupt, I don’t see how they can possibly be incompetent. Why have they not be exposed if they are incompetent?

Many people including myself believe they are incompetent and corrupt because the NRL are very weak in regards to clubs like the Rorters and Donkeys and savage other clubs like us because we are seen to be easier to punish

They are incompetent in regards to running a fair and equitable competition which is what they are appointed to d😵nly a few people would believe they are doing that. The corruption is because of their obvious favouritism in looking after the powerfull clubs.
It will be interesting to see if the NRL will be as lenient on Barba as Toddles was when he was the CEO at the bulldogs when it was rumoured that a situation very similar to what has just unfolded was happened there

Yes, they really swept that one under the carpet. This is from Foxsports this morning re Barba:

"It’s not the first time Barba has been accused of allegedly assaulting a partner.

In September 2013, News Corp Australia released images of Barba’s ex-partner which they claimed showed injuries which were inflicted by the fullback. The woman denied the claims.

The NRL also opened an investigation into the Bulldogs’ handling of the matter. Former chief executive and the NRL’s then head of football, Todd Greenberg, is cleared of any wrongdoing."

Hardly at arm's length. Do you think they might have put a time frame on that one?

What @GNR4LIFE is saying is how do people who are incompetent cover up their corruption. Covering up the corruption implies a certain level competency?

I hope that they leave Barba in a cell , switch the CC footage off and let someone Taumalolo's size straighten him out for about 10 minutes

Little man's syndrome is strong in this one Paduwan

I think the worst the NRL is doing is not just incompetency or corruption as such, but, the blatant favouritism shown to individuals and clubs..eg..Ingless(indigenous player and Aust rep),Roosters(premiership club with high profile businessman on the board (Politis),,

When the NRL get it right and realise that there are 16 clubs and all players with NRL contracts should all be on a level playing field, then we will have a fair and honest sport, atm the NRL do what they like how they like..

Pretty hard to beat when Greenburg makes decisions that suit his agenda…
