Pascoe statement on times at hand - message from CEO

Rubbish yourself.

I am saying we are a target and we need to minimise the ways the media can target us. The perception of unprofessionalism is a big one. If Go was actually a fantastic chair then I would cop it but she is definitely replaceable. It is about being strategic.

I actually run a successful business so if you want to argue with me about talent acquisition strategy, pr and hr matters just be conscious that I am talking from a place of expertise to some degree.

but as he said "you only hear half the story".

im sure the deadlines were placed so that the focus can shift back on to this year.

Wests Tigers now head into the market with more than 200 players off contract for next season, 100% of our cap set to be playing here, and **a war chest that would be the envy of our competitors is exciting for this organisation.**

Justin Pascoe
Wests Tigers CEO

why would you say that? flaunt your money? dont like this one. it just allows other managers to milk us for money. hope we dont start over paying coz of this.

Everyone under the sun knows we have oodles of cap space. Most managers will know each club's cap situation, and the bigger agents will have a handle on most individual player contracts.
It's hardly a revelation.

You honestly reckon it is only inside knowledge between WT management and WT supporters that our club has plenty of salary cap money to spend? Shhhhh, don't talk so loud, people will hear….........
C'mon mate.

Don't take it personally mate. I enjoy your contributions and generally agree with you. However, you are wrong here. Buzz hates us and has for over 10 years. He has a personal vendetta against Go. The club has tried over the years, particularly when Mayer was here to placate the old drunkard, but to no avail. But why would we give the guy anything? He is irrelevant.

Great to hear you run a successful business. With respect, I don't think that puts you in a place of expertise regarding sports administration. Admittedly, the best policy for most organisation is to lie low and not feed the press. Rugby league is slightly difference because unless you give the press something, they will just make it up, as we have seen.

I know he would, and most would. But you minimise your weak points. Go is one. The media is being used as a weapon against us. Go is replaceable. If she wasn't, I would stand firm.

Look at the Cleary hire. He is so respected that nobody has said a bad word. Taylor used to cop plenty. Our perception in the media influences everything. New talent acquisition and fans. Membership. Ratings.

Having business experience gives me more expertise than someone with none.

Sure. I think you will find most people on here have business experience on here. Some considerable. No need to Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon your own to try and validate your argument. Let your position stand on its own. Its either correct or its not.

The white elephant in the room that wasn't addressed was why Woods will remain captain of our club after the disgraceful way he has handled himself these last few weeks? Pretty weak from the club IMO to be content to get treated that way and still reward the slobby buffoon with the captaincy. Strong clubs wouldn't stand for that.

Meh, players come and go, both good players and bad. But to allow someone who has treated the club with zero respect in his contract dealings to remain the leader of our club is embarrassing TBH. Disgusting decision. Hope they change their stance in the very near future.

Its just more froth and bubbles from the Wests Tigers… If Pascoe was a smart operator, he would know the most important thing right now is to get us 'out' of the media until we have something positive to sell.

Getting into a fight with James Hooper is stupid and makes us look more un-professional. Unlike most on here, I think its time to head to the bunker and sort our crap out!

Top read.

He has something to sell that is the appointment of Cleary and a free cap and the clubs postion re negotiations on the 3.

He now has all fans on the bus.
We are now a united club in our history moving forward.
As for players have money and they will come.
Never been any different.

We need to be on the front foot more, glad to see Justin standing up for the organisation.

Once we get a few signings we will get a spring in our step - as the signing of Cleary did.

Are we gonna get a statement for everything that's in the media now? Speak less, more action. Get the signatures on paper that will speak louder than any words will

I thought it was a good statement but this is exactly what needs to happen. We just need to treat this like a business. When guys are difficult ala the traitorous three the club should do exactly what they've done now and probably earlier - i.e. just walk away.

The article today was so poorly constructed with fluff and no real quotes that it didn't need addressing at all and giving it credence. Should of let that one go through to the keeper.

No we won't get a club statement for everything but something needed to be said at this time. We are being hit from pillar to post by most media personalities and quite a number of supporters don't know what to believe.

You are 100% correct SG when you say new signatures will be needed to show that we are competitive in the market and then on the field moving forward.

There's been nothing official yet, are they waiting for cooling off periods to finish before going into the market?

What if something weird happens like the NRL knock back the Woods contract?

I don't think a statement like this is warranted.

I don't like seeing a CEO feeling like they need to explain themselves amidst some criticism.

The hard decisions have been made. Time to knuckle down and start building a very strong squad for next season. Get out there and sign some players and all that whinging and sooking will very quickly go away.

Not criticising the content of the statement, that's all fine.
