We are such a stupid club. Momirovski was too good for us. He was vital in many games for Penrith at centre. He's such a quality finisher and was so at our club too.

I completely disagree. Even if we had Laurie and Momirovski playing for us, we would still be finishing between 11-14. Momo is a solid player and has definitely lifted this year behind one of the fittesy and most confident team in recent memory. ***He wouldn't have been this good for us.***

But he was good all along, footy smarts, could find the line and would have been our best centre by a long way, which isn't really giving him the credit he deserves because the standard of what we had was pretty low.

We did him a big favour, but that was only through our own stupdity claiming that he was only going to be our 3rd or 4th favoured centre if he stayed.

If I was Momo I would pay Wests Tigers a visit and say, "kiss my (premiership) ring losers."

Ok, let me get this clear for once and for all. Your argument is that Momorovski left and was let go, purely because he wasnt as good as BJ, JTJ, TT?

The discussions for Dane were going for over 3 months and Penrith had no intention of releasing him early, we did very well to get him. Look at the Dogs who a lot of people laud for their recruitment at the moment, they were unable to get Burton out of the Panthers in a similar situation.

The business about Momo being told that he was rated behind BJ, JTJ and Tommy, I think was fairly widely reported on here and in the media.

I think we just need to agree to disagree on this one, but the main point I have been trying to push is that Momo would have been our best centre and not by a short margin.

They had / have Sunai Turiava coming through who played the full season at fullback in NSW cup. By giving us Dane for Momos they got a capable player in a position they didn’t have a lot of depth in yet they would of stunted the development of their rookie fullback and also had been short a centre. (Considering Burton played out the year as one of them).
I’m not unhappy with the end result but. I’m not 100% convinced Penrith had plans for Daine after we had signed him and therefore they probably got the better end of the bargain; at least in the short term.
Long term we won out.

Panthers wanted a trade for getting Laurie early. We offered cash, they declined. I believe we also offered to trade Cini, which they declined. Momirovski was the trade Penrith accepted.

I'd do that deal every day of the week to get Daine Laurie a year early. He would not have played much FG in 2021, so he would have come to us in 2022 still very underdone, particularly because State Cup was cancelled.

It boggles my mind that people think clubs can just get what they want FROM THEIR OPPONENTS because they are a good club or bad club. You need to have something to trade, and it's clear as day that Tigers will struggle to offer Panthers something (that we are willing to part with) when Panthers are one of the best sides going around.

This I can agree with you on. There is no doubt IMO Momo would have been our best option for centre. First centre picked.

IMO our team is stronger with Laurie at 1 and Momo absent than Momo at centre and Laurie absent
