why did we keep jamming in when a pass over the top was always a chance (or should I say left the door open) and we kept up the same in the second half?? Bizarre..

Talau is just not a first grader.

It has been Nofo's move forever, sometimes its justified as we are out numbered.
I can distinctly remember 5+ situations were he has jammed on short sides for no reason and got caught out.

Nofa does it so often that I can only believe that he's instructed to do it.

All wingers at all clubs are told to support their centre if they go in,the FB/cover is supposed to look after overlaps

Support their Centre? Nofa rushed in so far he was inside doueihi on the last try.

I nearly threw my remote at the screen when Nofa did that.
Beggars belief a first grade winger with 150 NRL games under his belt still still does that.

I learnt not to shoot up on my own goal line like that in under 13s...

He’s incapable of learning.

I think most of this team have no football nous at all......could that be the real problem ?

I think they're poorly coached. But Bellamy could coach Nofo and it wouldn't make a difference. He's incapable of learning and he's made the same mistakes his entire career. He's a liability.

Defensively he is a liability. He also is great when we have the ball. We gotta accept him for who he is.

I'll explain the coach is mediocre that's it

So are some of the players mate...At any League level you get selected for your ability and talent to play the game in a particular position, halfback, forward centre etc...the coach has the job of getting the players to play the game that gets a win..
Getting the basics right from the very start is of utmost importance and when players dont get it right you are replaced by some one who has better credentials to fill the role, hence Ressies and lower grades.....
If at NRL level where you get a contract by a club you should be at elite level and shouldnt be coached to know your position or the basics of the game, thats why they get paid the big money...
the coach at this level should be able to set a game plan and structure the team to be able to win games with knowing the players should have a fair idea of their position and how to play it bar young guys learning, they need the NRL coaching to be confident in their position...
What Im saying is that Madge appears not to be coaching the players well, fair argument considering the losses we have incurred, however, well seasoned players constantly make the same basic errors during the season and keep their position only says one thing..no decent depth to swap them for..
Noffa and others should realise the basic rule taught from a very young age,MARK YOUR MAN,dont overun the defensive line and make sure you complete your tackle and get back into your POSITION...
We have many in the squad with talent, unfortunately that talent isnt working because of the lesser talented or weak players beside them...
So in fairness Madge has a tough job getting across to these players and he may be a coach who does more one on one coaching and that is because of the younger ones in the squad, the experienced players should be helping not HINDERING as so often has happened this season...

That is how our stupid backs operate. They are totally disfunctional

To say it’s all their fault is ridiculous and clueless, they get told to do that. It’s been part of our defensive shape ever since madge came in regardless of who’s there

So you believe the coaching staff tell them to come in consistently and give their opposite number a free run to the try line.

I can pretty much guaranate that every team coaches their players in relation to reading the play to know when to come in and when not too. It is a player decision. Nofo is a pretty poor defensive winger especially when reading to come in or not. He makes bad decisions there all the time. Talau is about 1000 times worse then Nofo in reading the play.

It's like Brooks. Sure we could do better but these guys aren't the reason we are an average footy team.

I think we have two pressing issues in our squad. We lack some class players like RTS or that Walsh kid and we lack enough solid first grade outside backs.

BJ, Nofo, Talau are poor defenders and make mistakes. Nofo is the best of those players by far. Doueihi to me should be in the halves and he has to work on his defense as well but his defense isn't as poor as the other 3.

We need some quality consistent outside backs and a class player.

If an assistant coach actually did their research they would of seen the Warriors all year have a high completion rate minimal risk approach and spread the ball with fast, flat long cut out balls.

If you play compressed defense they will wipe you off the park.

Regardless of our defensive structure the usual mistakes every game where made. BJ made terrible decisions as always & had no urgency, Talau was found out as a winger yet again and Nofa failed when it mattered the most which surprise no one.

Warriors did their homework we didn’t.

I pointed this out pre-match, and as you said it was a surprise to no one. TT was always going to be a target, and our backline not only lacks talent and speed, but has no structure. It's a shame because our forwards were good, and Brooks was excellant.

It just goes to show how lacklustre our team is ...we leveled up got in front and couldnt close out the game..you know why..the Warriors had talented players at this level and wanted the win...we thought we had done enough and couldnt sustain the intensity ...
coaching fault or player fault...who knows, but its another loss when it could have been a win..

And just as a comparison, the Sharks Drags game last night highlighted elite player fraud...
Norman on 800k and Hunt on 1 mill couldnt position themselves to put the sword to the Sharks and paid the penalty with a loss...
Norman had 2 goes at finishing them off and couldnt get the job done with 2 very poor attempts at FG...800k should make sure he knows his job and should have finished them off....

They're poorly coached in my opinion, and this is reflective of Madge refusing to hire good support staff.

Something Harry Grant said on the Matty Johns show last week stuck with me. They were baiting him to bag the Tigers and the difference between us and Melbourne. He said Madge is more of an individual coach, he works with the players one on one, but Craig sees the big picture.

Couldn't think of a better way to sum it up, it's 17 individuals out there each week. They don't defend for each other or even trust each other to make a tackle.

So true, they don't defend or trust each other, but to me they are the dumbest backs i have ever seen,., Concur on all your comments.

The best but was after he signed this contract he acknowledged that after signing the previous contract he got lazy and his performance dropped (I’m paraphrasing here) and that he was going to make a conscious effort for that not to happen this time.

Of course.

Douhei looks like the only player with some pedigree.

It's hard being a fan.

What do we do with him, does not pass to centres or follow game plan at 6 and not a full back and doesn’t like playing centre

Sleeve, this team trains every week to play the game,if the players dont know their job and positional play by now they shouldnt be in first grade...back to basics, complete your tackles, dont run out of the defensive line, mark your man and get back into your position....blaming each other or making excuses why they miss tackles or leave gaps is on the individual player not doing his job...this is NRL at elite level and some of these guys arent good enough at this level ...full stop...

Keep him at centre or lock. It will take a long time to manufacture him into a 6.

He needs to work on his game at 6.

He is in the NRL and if he is required to play centre which he is good at,to get the team a win sobeit,I agree he needs to develop his game at 6 and work on his defense, otherwise he is a great player for us,however he is ONE player, there are another 12 positions on the team at any one time, surely they must know their JOB as well....
