It's a slightly misleading poll Stryker given the ALP vote was split between 4 PMs.

None of which we any good Yoss

Well that's your opinion.

Well if any were any good Yoss ,they would of stood out like a sore thumb

Which they obviously didn't Next thing you'll be claiming that it was held at a Young Liberals convention

Seriously though I would of thought Hawkey would of polled far better

Not necessarily. What I'm saying is the voting largely went on party lines. Over 60% of people surveyed didn't think Howard was the best PM. I think 80% or so of LNP supporters went for Howard. I'm just suggesting the results were fairly predicatable for this reason.

And 95% didn't think Gillard is.

True but firstly I'm not advancing the case that Gillard is wildly popular unlike the Terror. Secondly ALP supporters have 3 other choices. Agreed it is not exactly a tick of approval for her but I really don't think anyone gets a ringing endorsement. 1 in 5 said they didn't know.

The election date has been set down as September 14th

Why do politicians insist on having elections during football finals time ??

I reckon that could piss off enough male voters to lose you an election

Twothings that should be banned in September

Elections and Weddings

Whoever wins, I just hope that the loser disappears. Gillard is awful. Abbott is awful. Seeing the back of one or the other can only be a plus!

Thank God… Now we know when this idiot and the fools she represents will be gone.

Bring Back the Liberals... Time for Small Business to get some slack!!!

First September fed election since 1946.

At any rate, politics is discussed in the same way sport is. People choose their team and won't hear a bad thing about them, just as they won't believe a good word about the oponent. So to be in the middle of the finals gives supporters of the 8 teams who missed out something to get fired up about.

Having it on Yom Kippur will probably cause more of a stir.

From now until September we can passionately discuss both Australian politics untiil either exhaustion or lack of interest takes over. Thank goodness for the diversion of Rugby League between now and September.

this is about as far as Conservative strategy has come since last election

'Liberals are good for business and Labors are bad for business'

no further explanation needed

Not a 'strategy' … unfortunately for Labor it is a simple truth.

On what objective basis do you base that on?

Well considering the small business sector employs the majority of Australians, I would consider it important wouldnt you Winnipeg?

A good anology I heard recently is that Australian politics is akin to a man mowing his lawn. Week after week he is hassled by his kid to have a turn on the mower, finally relents and lets the young fella have a go whilst watching in horror as the lawn is butchered. Finally he retakes control and redoes the kids 'work'. On September 14, we will finally take the lawn mower back …....

please point out how Labor has sent the country off the rails? It's been pointed out time and time and time again, we have low inflation, low interest rates and low unemployment, coupled with economic growth, under the current Government.

Ten interest rate rises in a row under the Howard Government. Was that prudent use of the lawnmower?

Is this prudent use of the lawnmower?

Tony Abbott is promising a sweet new ride-on mower without revealing how he plans to pay for it. All he'll say is his mower will be better than Labor's but he won't be bullied into telling us why it is better.
