Possible Fullbacks

huh? I love the tigers, and Shifty for that matter. I think I got Blair's and Bell's ages confused, but whatever, 500k a year on blair is a pretty big fee for a position that realitically isn't that important.

Where are you getting the $500,000 figure from?

There's no way we are paying Adam Blair anywhere near that, geez give the guys running the club a bit of credence.

all the papers said he'll get 500 a year, or that it's "blair's $2m payday".

Dont believe everything you read in the Tele - life rule number one

Just back on fullbacks surely Reddy will get first crack?

I really dont rate Milne at alll, he does score tries tho, if you are looking at a Canberra back up fullback, Nathan Massey looks very, very good.

I know im dreaming, but I'd love one of the warriors back ups, the Fish or Omar Salemenki, both look awesome, not sure where the warriors are going to put all there young gun coming through

Ever heard of third party payments? Thought not.

Blair is 25, International forward, vice captain of New Zealand and premiership (although taken off them correctly) winner. He can play second row, front row, lock and is an 80 minute player. How much is someone like that worth?

As for forwards not being important, how long have you been following football? Forwards have won football games since 1908.

Please, no more pinhead satements

ok some guy who calls people "buddy" told me to post here, again.

but I think we should update this discussion with Tom Humble now in the fold. At this stage it's very much looking like beau ryan still, unless they make some dramatic inter-season signing, which I doubt they can do after that inexplicably massive splurge on a certain 30 year-old prop, and they've already let moltzen go because they couldn't afford him. Humble is a 'utility', which basically means he's not very good at anything in particular and he'll probably only see game time when someone's injured (although that worked out pretty well for moltzen). They might bring somebody in from the reserve grades but I imagine he wont be their permanent fixture.

What makes you think Ryan will be fullback? The Tigers still have Mitch Brown on the books for next year and Joel Reddy will be pushing for fullback also.

Is this confirmed?

Next year it's between brown and reddy for the FB spot .

John grant is on a 1 year contract as a an experiment. He will be playing state cup in 2012 and if he goes well he will get a contract extension and possibly play NRL in 2013.

Brown or Reddy will be getting the look-in at FB.

Grant is a speculative signing, which I believe if he works out will be a straight replacement for Lote in 2013.

For the millionth time, there's no way Blair is on $500K a year. Chances are Farah and Benji aren't even on that.

I am another one who would love to see the Fish at the club, he has size, speed and can definitely find his way to the tryline. Unfortunately Cleary decided to play him totally out of position on the wing after injury which spelled the end of his year. There are a few young fullbacks going around behind other players that I wouldn't mind chasing including one of Coote/Gordon, Fish behind Locke, Beale behind Hoffman. All guns and all deserve to be starting at most 1st grade clubs. I'm of the strong belief though our fullback next year is just a stop gap for Tedesco to make the grade be it Brown or Reddy.

Not sure if Tedesco will make the grade but I think that is the plan for the future.

Tedesco took the step up from SG Ball to NYC with no trouble finishing with some impressive stats in particular his kick return averages being the highest in NYC.

He needs to bulk up a bit and a full off season presumably with the top squad should fix that. Didn't work for Mullaney Yes…But I think Tedesco is different in that he is also a ball player and just has that football brain that you just can't teach. His seen his good mate Matt Groat make the step up and maybe it will be his turn next year.

Blair is on 500K as is Benji. Farah 400K Lawrence 300K[/quote

Does this include third party? If not we are over the cap. Based on those figures we are paying four players a combined 1.7 million dollars. That leaves just over 2 million dollars to pay 21 players. Players including Ellis, Heighno and Tuqiri.

Bumped into mitch brown last night. Really really nice bloke, was very professional and polite to my girlfriend and I. He is 100% signed next year. I asked if he wanted the fb spot next year and he said "yeah Im hoping to get a crack at it". I think he definitely deserves first crack as his form last year in the finals and this year filling the gaps has been fantastic

Tedesco has been very impressive in the U20s games I've seen, you are right he needs to bulk up but that will come with a tailored program. He is a long term prospect in the meantime players like Brown have a chance.

Yeah..that doesn't add up does it..got the figures from http://www.zerotackle.com.au/
They also say Tuqiri is on 400K and Lui on 200K

Anyhow not on topic..don't want to get another wrist slap from Ink

New thread : Top 25 and what they get paid… maybe Mr Tiger99 can help us out there.

I also heard yesterday from a quality source that we will fill the fullback roll for 2012 season using whoever puts their hand up to cover the position.
We then make a big play for Duggan for 2013 & beyond.
This source is usually spot on with his information.
Whether we get Duggan for the $$$ we have available will be the real question.
I also see our style of play suiting him down to the ground so that's a real positive when it comes to his decision making.
