Yeah when we play the Bulldogs on Sunday you'll notice Krisnan Inu lining up _against_ us. TripleM doesn't know much about anything.

Triple M NRL's Brent Read says off-contract Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter could be a 'smoky' to coach the Newcastle Knights next season.

Potter is an excellent young coach who is yet to sign with the Wests Tigers for next year and has a number of connections at the Knights which could make him a good fit.

"He coached (former Newcastle player and current CEO) Matt Gidley at St Helens in England [while] Peter Mulholland, the recruitment guy there, coached Potter at St Gregory's Campbelltown years and years ago," Triple M's Brent Read said on Friday's Rush Hour.

Meanwhile, senior players Kurt Gidley and Jarrod Mullen have thrown their support behind caretaker coach Rick Stone to lead the club into the future.

"I think it's a think for the club to go through a process and see who the best is but I'd like to see Stoney get a crack," Kurt Gidley told Sunday Triple M NRL.

"He was doing well with the team before with probably not as much resources and I think he's a local guy and he knows what it's all about and will probably be a better coach after seeing what Wayne does."

Find it hard to believe he would go from one club with no money to another club with no money

I thought Rick Stone would get his old job back now that Bennett is leaving. Stone in his time as head coach had the Knights punching above their weight. He was getting good results with a largely no name squad. it seemed the players liked and respect him and the Knights also kept him as assistant to Bennett. He's a good coach. If I could see it, surely the knights know it. Potter ain't going there.

When a club needs a coach everyone usually gets mentioned , Potter would be looked at he is not signed next season he does need a job , and I have said that Brown is coming back to coach next season where ? if Potter has been trying to talk to the club for several months his manager would be sniffing around Newcastle for sure wouldn't you job security is pretty important.

There is nothing worse than a coach who whinges about how referees have ruined everything and that everyone outside the club is to blame for their shithouse performance.

Potter is a calculated man. He sent a huge letter to Tony Archer about these issues and I would be my life savings that they will take it more seriously than if he did a Jeff Toovey and blabbered on about investigations and all kinds of nonsense
