Potter without Farah??

I know it is not easy with injuries and disruptions. We don't expect them to win every week. However we expect a bit of cohesions and a plan that can at least worry some teams. Maybe something a bit different after we had looked lifeless with Robbie the first 3 or 4 times. Look at the Dogs on Friday night with plenty out under Hasler. A cunning plan that totally out foxed Manly. An example of really good coaching.

Some of the performance this year without Robbie has been mind numbingly bad. Seems like the plan is lets plod out way to being 0-12 down after half an hour and then throw Austin out there to score his customary individual try out of no where.

They looked like headless chooks today. No direction, no talk, no speed, no questions being asked. Potter has continued to pick Luani despite him showing no ability to be a first grade number 9\. Today he hits the ball up on 5th tackle from a metre out then Penrith go up the other end and score.

Lulia shows no ability what so ever every time he plays first grade. However walks into the team every time. His positional play when Idirs scored was laughable. Its like he wanted nothing to do with him. I won't even tal about Lawrence its just laughable.

Im just wondering how much our good performances are all to do with Farahs coaching on the field and his leadership. We look worse then a wooden spoon team without him. We dead set struggle to complete a set, construct a dangerous play or make any sort of line break. Several first graders on decent money are still offering very little.

Potter has been a good man to build a new culture. He has done a lot of work building this clb up from the shambles of 2012 and 2013\. The team does put in for 80 minutes pretty much every week. I know it is not easy with troops down, however we show nothing at all. Look at th Sharks vibrancy with plenty out last night or the Dogs on friday. Even Parra without Hayen had a nice win over the Dogs.

I would be prepared to re-sign Potter for another year based on a lot of the good ground work he has done. However the lack of inspiration from a tactical and game plan view point has me worried we are going to find it difficult to progress to the next level under him at this stage.

Im not writing him off, however the totally insipid and lifeless performances without Farah have me a bit worried from a tactical and selection viewpoint.

Not sure if Potter has ever seen Dene Halatau player hooker
Based on the 10 mins of performance from dummy half from Halatau i expect Potter to prefer him over Luani,.

The WT Fans know the ability Halatau has as a hooker, afterall he used to give Farah a run for his money back in the day.

I would like to see Farah coach wests tigers when he's hung up the boots . Without Farah potter reminds me of Alicia silverstone .

Everyone seems to blame no Robbie or this or that or lawrence or potter of whoever.
The fact is, with or without Farah our attack has been woeful for 2 months now. Penrith gave us so many opportunities but we just kept blowing them with pushed passes and just flat out stock attacking plays. It's a big problem that might be fixed with Austin at 6 for consecutive weeks and a youngster to replace lulia. Outside of Austin we have zero attacking threats.

You all saw Potter's coaching today. His not good..never has been good and never will be good at coaching. Yes his a nice guy but his not a good coach and he is definitely no Des Hasler or Ivan Cleary for that matter, not even close.

Im still not sold on Brooks. His 5th tackle options are pedestrian most of the time to say the least. It comes down to what he does individually more often than needed.

He has had enough games to take off the L plates. Its about time he stepped up and became a P plater.

im not defending him but just saying that he's done a lot in the 15 months by getting rid of the dead wood, cleaning the club's image of being soft, instilling good attitude amongst the players and bringing in juniors like noffa, simona, brooks, teddy etc.

in saying that, his next contract should be about what he can do for the team in the next 2 years rather than what he achieved previously. he is not showing us much atm that would indicate that he is the right man to take us where we deserve to be with the juniors at hand.

With our massive injury toll and state of O disruptions Potter will get a new contract as it probably is impossible to really judge him. My view, he was the perfect person to break down the Sheens way, but I am far from convinced he is the person to take us into the future

I changed my view on Potter some time ago , he has not been able to deal with this SOO period in any terms. I only have to point out one selection that typifies Potter as Coach Luani never performed from 1st NRL game but persisted with him till the end. I have major reservations about Potter as coach he had the opportunity to stamp his brand on the team but has failed.Today was a winnable game !

The same misunderstanding applied between Potter and Farah when Potter first arrived. I remember that he rested Farah at half time in a match against Manly. He replaced him with that great hooker Masuda.

While I agree with some of this , it's important to remember all teams are in different situations.
We had a good win over Parra earlier in the year without Farah I think?
The bulldogs v Manly was a coaching master class. And as far as the Sharks over the Roosters once the score was 24-0 the young sharks threw caution to the wind. Good on them, but it's easy to do when you have nothing to lose.

In a tight competition, with some significant parts of our team missing, the pre competition wooden spoon favourites ( us) are sitting in 10th on percentages. I don't think things are THAT bad.
I'd love to see Cherrington in for Luani, but I just don't think he is big enough yet. This was always a rebuilding year, and I personally like how it's developing

Exactly that should have been the first alarm bell ringing that Potter is clueless. There has been plenty more since.
But his a great guy..Irvine what's wrong with you…What did Potter ever do to you...blah blah blah.

When we first signed Potter I was stoked . I was well and truly over SuperCoach Sheenius . Now potter has had 1/2 years I'm starting to think the same . It's a shame Bellamy didn't come on board before sheens IMO

Today we made poor decisions, made basic errors and forced passes at crucial times surrendering field position. Overall I thought we played well against the competition leaders, just not smart. There were opportunities to have made this game a lot closer but we squandered them. Not having half your spine will do this.

Under Potter we are a ruddless ship that appears to be dead in the water. Sack him now and hope we can still make the finals. maybe we can come up with a coach like the sharks did, some one with balls.

Same Sharks coach that just quit because it was too hard for him? We've drastically overachieved this year, and most on the forum were predicting a mid-lower table finish. Going in to this round we were 6th. Sure, I agree that Potter has a way to go tactically, but he's done a good job getting us where we are today, and I believe it's his partnership with Farah that has delivered our success, not simply Farah's influence.

lol sack another coach…..............

Dead wood was cut, this is a rebuilding year, I'm not sure what people were expecting, we've exceeded expectations this year and if it wasn't for injuries, we'd be higher up the ladder no doubt.

Yes playing Luani at hooker was nuts, Dene should have probably played there or Austin and we have another big forward on the bench and Lulia shouldn't be seen ever again and Lawrence had another shocker, but who to replace those 2? shall we stuff up the under 20's who should finish the year in the top 4?

We need to think long term, not the short term of just this year.

Yeah then Luani comes back on to replace Halatau….strange interchange that one...Halatau showed more at hooker in the 10 minutes than Luani has shown in his 6 or 7 starts
