What I liked the most is that we scored plenty of tries, in plenty of different ways, by plenty of different players.
Not just mind numbing repetitive plays.
And all that was without our biggest spine draw card.

I'm seriously in the Latu at lock side of things - the guy has great front on defence and just adds another dimension to the team in attack. If we don't get him in the 17 another team will snap him up.

Bird was excellent. Tough tackler, smart awareness, little things off the ball were very good. Not an impact runner but just a proper rugby league player. If he keeps that form up he's exactly the sort of player this club has lacked.

May and our forward pack looked dynamic and physical.

Defense was mostly good, but the tries we conceded were really ugly.

All of our halves kicked well tonight and all seem to have better long kicking games. What happened?

Parra look really average. Obviously plenty of 1st graders out but I think they'll struggle with that forward pack.

Feels like we have a bit of depth at most spots for the first time in a very long time.

I'm still not convinced by seyfarth, think he needs more upper body strength so that he can be more dominant in tackles. He doesn't seem to be able to stop momentum.

Highlight for me was watching bird's defensive work. Great line speed, tough tackling and the right level of agro in the tackle. Based on that form I'm surprised Flanagan let him go, he seems like a Flanagan sort of player.

A Room full of elephants - for the 2nd week running Voss says that Bula suffered the Appendectomy at the Army Camp. Reports were that it was Turuva. Anyone know the actual reality?

I mentioned last week that Voss made the claim that Bula was suffering from the appendectomy due to the army camp. He has been going thru rehab for a shoulder recon. Turuva was reported as the appendix victim. So wtf is the real story? The good news is that Mason is going OK but no word from the club is doing my appendix in, in sympathy.
