Press Conference: Ivan Cleary

I thought Clearys press conference was nothing short of extremely well handled.

I am getting happier by the day with him as coach. Knows the direction he wants to go and he is doing it.

Ivan is a legend.

Happy - be honest with yourself. If these guys leave it shows their character. It has nothing at all to do with the club being bad or anything like that.

Few people into body language , thoughts ???

He's hiding something for sure , they know the answers to the questions they are asking

He looked like he just woke up and was put on the spot , but he also had that sly fox look .
The look when you have an ace up your sleeve .

I haven't posted on here for a long while and just wanted to say, thank you Ivan for starting to sort out this mess!

I thought he looked frustrated and is probably wondering WTF has he got himself in for.

He got himself into having 4 million plus to buy himself a footy team from the get go how many new coaches have that happen ?

He was hiding the fact he has some very good players to replace these guys if they leave, he has a plan B, and probably C and D as well.

I dont think he looks frustrated, i think he is following the forum rules on no swearing hence he cant say what he wants .

1 thing employers dont like is negativity or negative criticism, Cleary looks to pull short each time he wants to speak his mind

Where's Greenburg been during all of this? Why aren't the media pumping him about the shenanigans with the 2018 salary cap and how he can preside over an organisation with such a weak governance structure and culture that allows player managers and clubs, particularly the rich ones, to cause endless speculation on player movements? What about the fans? Is the NRL in the entertainment business or not?

The thing that most seem to be missing is the importance he attaches to the fans and members. Saying to supporters that he will guarantee high class replacements in the event that these two walk out, leaves me confident for our future but I don't expect short term fixes. I hope he understands that this forum will knife him if success is not immediate (but sensibly, he probably doesn't care about that).

I reckon he handled that well. The sooner this is over the better. If these guys want to go great. See you later.

Agree. It's not the end of the world but I reckon there will be plenty of hate coming for Teddy and Woods if they leave. It's not so much about the fact they are/may leave, but the way in which they/their manager has dragged this out to the 11th degree. The players say they want to concentrate on football and leave all of this up to their manager - rubbish. If it was my future I'd want it sorted so there's one less distraction for me to worry about.

I like Cleary's tone throughout the presser, he's calm and just wants to get on with the job. I like his last comment when the media asked him if contingency plans had been developed - "I'll let you figure that one out".

Ivan is so cool , calm and collected . I have complete faith in his plans ahead .
Tigers best signing.

Bulldogs are going to lap us this weekend

Don't buy any spoons WT's supporters , come September we'll get heaps of them

But yeah , the club has it right , finally we will win something

Wests Tigers , the new pride of the league

Well
750k a year. There needs to ve some frustration.

Anyway plenty of good players out there for the money we will have and Ivan will have the team ge wants.

Finally we have broken the player power and management movement. They won't be as powerful again.

If you can do me a favour, just write the words DOOM GLOOM in your posts for the next few days, it will save me having to scroll down and see if you are saying anything that's not doomy and gloomy.

Because as a long-time respected poster, you've gone off the deep end here. We get you are upset, it's natural, I assume it's over Tedesco, lots of people feel your pain.

You'll need the Foe button then

Doom and Gloom is all anyone's getting from this poster , and its got nothing to do with Tedesco

I was a Wests Magpies supporter far before the time that James Tedesco was a glint in John or Rosemary's eye

You know I've been critical of Tedesco defensively and said in another thread that we might be better off financially if he leaves

This is what I find most amusing really , Tedesco will be in far better place now he has left the club , why would I be annoyed at all if I was a Tedesco supporter first and foremost

I bet my life the WT's won't be in a better place after it's all said in done

Greenberg said the other day that he lived the intrigue surrounding mid year players movements.
That just goes to show that you don't need feathers and a long neck to be a goose.
