Quickest backflip??

Hmmm taylor supporters are too classy to say I told you so.

This is the biggest backflip that we will see on here. The truth is as soon as we stop playing Taylor ball we look a lot better.

That was a great effort and it is exactly what we have been asking for. The fans that have been calling out for a change of tactics deserve a tonne of credit. Lets hope that we don't see any Taylor ball for the rest of the season.

That was Taylor ball Baby - in spades. You may not want to see it, but I do - next week and for the rest of the season.
Just hope they follow the game plan again.

What a coach!!!! - could be the best in the comp.

No just kiddin! Couldn't be him
It is only him when we lose. Isn't it?

Some people will only ever see what they want to see. Some well im just not sure what they see.

It wasnt Taylor-ball tonight, it was Taylor getting somewhere with his structure.

There were some subtle changes, dummy half engaging the markers before passing, halves changing the direction of the play back to a forward on the opposite side to the way we were running. There wasnt any of the old four one out under 7's type runs of the previous weeks.

Credit split 50% to the forwards for finally stepping up and also for Taylor tweaking it.

I didnt mind the bombs tonight, they arent out of place if the lead up set offers enough variety.

Black & White. You made some fair points but the above from tiger in the gong is said perfectly and he has obviously pointed it out better.

So our captain and Origin hooker and vice captain is not a great loss??? Everyone really underestimates the value of Farah and unfairly so, imo.

Geez Hobbo, did Farah pinch one of your girlfriends in a past life or something

Other than that, I agree with your sentiments re tonight, Hobbo. Souths were extremely flat, they really had nothing. As far as our season so far is concerned, it has been atrocious and whilst I'm stoked at our win tonight, it's just one win, so there is no backflip in opinion from me at this stage. Hopefully, they can keep it up for the rest of the season, then I'll be happy to say I mis-judged Taylor and his tactics.

That's my opinion on Farah flip , Halatau was great tonight until he got injured .
Cherrington was sharp from dummy half despite getting steamrolled a few times in defence .
I'm long over Farah , yeah he's our captain and skippers the blues .. So what !
Farah makes a ton of tackles but when was the last time he steered us to victory ?

Do the first three games this year count, just askin??

It's Farah's service (slow) from dummy half that kills us , tonight our receivers had more time and quicker service …

Ava's TRY was a Try and Richards hit the crossbar with the conversion…

Take a second to digest this before responding, but if you re-read your post do you think you are agreeing with me from weeks back that the difference between what you have isolated and weeks gone by is Farahs rendition of Taylors plan is the difference? As if Farahs close to the ruck rendition has our props murdered, and with a little more injection from the halves we are much more dynamic, ala Cherrington?

Dont hate the plan, hate the rendition is all I am saying…

You think im critical of Taylor, im worse with Farah.

Said everything i want to say about him last year.

Was nice to see the 17 players out there smile and look happy to be there.

Yeah pity we didn't have our regular kicker Richards kicking for that one

Richatds must of been a late inclusion

Quit while you are miles behind

Happy, spot on… Woods is a grafting Prop, though doesnt have the mindset to tweak on contact vs, field position. As awesome as he is, he has levels to reach before being truly great, though funnily enough has a crazy grasp on the body position in contact to unlock them all. Every defence is waiting for him to struggle for every metre and hold him up which he thrives on. That in itself, and his ability to dominate at it is a plus, though if he knew when to fight for speed vs metres would be a bonus, and add an agro run to the mix, he would be truly dangerous.

No one is booking seats for the semis GT, we are enjoying it when it happens.

Credit might be due for once instead of being negative (especially after a win).

Point one - Teams only play as well as they are allowed ( except if you are the Tigers of course - then every time we win the other team have a bad week).

Point 2 - For the first time in over a month - the forwards went forward for most of the 80 minutes.
That is why the backs were able to run the ball, and the kickers for the most part were able to deliver some good position.

Point 3 - The Taylor lovers and I am one of them are realists. Next week could be back to the old days - The team is trying to gain consistency, that's what all this is about. We said at the start of the year that it was going to be a "rocks and diamonds" season, which is what it is proving to be.

Point 4 - Surely in a game like tonight - most of us should be able to see the teams potential, the ability of all the young players coming to the for, the improving defense and the connection between players in attack. All they have to do is do it consistently. They're working on it.

The FANS deserve credit - is that a joke? Same tactics - but tonight the forwards dominated for the full eighty and gave the backs some room, and finally we had a quality centre pairing . The only people who deserve credit for tonights win are the players, and Taylor for persisting with this young squad. The so called " plodders" certainly aimed up tonight.

So let me get this right in my own head for a second

So when we play well its the players ??

When we play bad its the coach and his tactics ??

I'm guessing that following that logic Taylor will be so angry he will drop the entire side for not following his directions ??

Did Taylor arrange for Souths to play like we have been? we dropped the baby stuff tonight and most of the team had a go for a change. And it worked.
If we had of played like we have been doing . You would have been saying give TAylor till the rest of the season to see his great vision. But because we won. Everything is great

Just remember guys, we played like this in the first few games and then fell into a hole where we played like Souths tonight. I'll be happy to give Taylor credit when we can play like this for a few weeks , not after one game

Why not - you rip into him after each individual game!

Maybe he should get a credit after an individual game!

Best thing Taylor has done all year was target Reynolds, Walker and Johnson.

We put our best big and powerful guys on them and they came up short, short in stature and short in game.

Its a real issue for them going forward, they cant tackle those lads

Edit; Well not without Inglis in and around them.

Disagree - have you watched Inglis this season at full back, Out of position alot and then when not - couldn't tackle a wet paper bag.

Big difference between running at Inglis the legend and Inglis the man… I know that any man can be knocked out in a fist fight, and will have a go, I dont rate my chances against a God. Inglis isnt a God anymore, probably spit teeth for a week, but would have a go.

Midfield bombs are designed to give our defenders time to get set while they're running up field. After ever bomb was kicked I noticed how quickly our defensive line was set and they all ran up field in one line together. Some were howling the kicks, I think it's a good ploy. I wonder how many other teams start adopting it.

Mainly to avoid seven tackle sets

Russell, you would have to be happy with the performance tonight..some of the guys in the forwards really put in tonight and it was pleasing to see they dominated and weren't getting dominated..with the whole teaming playing well, and the inclusion of Noofa and Simona,it was a joy to watch a game of rugby league won by using both defense and attack..it was a sight for my sore eyes…the best thing for me was they manned up for the full eighty minutes....

Side note ...I was very impressed with the running of Ava,Sue and lodge they stepped up another level tonight with Farah and Woods out,and Marty was absolutely sensational...

I'm really hoping that this is the turnaround game We have been waiting for,no looking back now, just powering on ahead at full speed to make up for the games that have been a learning curve...Albeit Iam still realistic,2016 will have to be a very much more consistent year before I pass Judgement on good old JT,although he does deserve accolades for the way in which they won tonight, well done JT....

but if you lot call that Taylor ball, you've got to be kidding yourselves.
For the first time in over a month our backs actually ran the ball, our kickswent to the corners( where they always should have been) and Taupau and teddy both had blinders.

It was great to see though wasn't it. Our defence was still ordinary but because we attacked we had more ball and the opposition weren't just teeing off on us.

Brooks was great as well despite the one terrible kick. I didn't think he was that quick.
