One thing he can't be criticised for is his commitment, giving his best every time he's pulled on the jumper, no matter what position he's asked to play; wing, fullback, 5/8 and hooker. I wish him all the best back in Superleague.

X2

Well said sideline. He probably didn't get the right opportunity here either as far as positions are concerned but hopefully has more success OS.

Ive always liked rankin person, speaks very well in interviews, just wants to work hard and do his best for the team and always puts in to the best of his abilities. The reality is though that he is terrible on the field and shouldn't be near our first grade team. He is a nsw cup/ esl player at best and should be grateful our club has given him the opportunity to play as much first grade has he did. I wish him all the best and hope he kills it over there

No matter what you think of Rankin as a player, at least he always gave 100% for the jersey.

Good luck to him in England.

Rankin copped plenty on here over the seasons he has been with us,but to me he is a quality human being for doing his very best for the club that gave him an opportunity and put rugby league and the club first…

Rankin will kill it in england. Hopefully he is able to solidify a spot in his future team as it is well deserved. He brings passion and commitment as a package. Good luck jordan.

Wonder who will be our back up halves for Brooks and Reynolds next year? Is JLJ signed?
if one of Brooks and Reynolds did go down maybe Lolohea would go to the halves and Nofo or someone to fullback. Still it would be interesting to see who plays ISC if Rankan goes.

Mapasone will slot straight in as can Marshall-King…for this year..

Gamble will be one of them next year..

Oh yeah. I forgot about Gamble. Interested to see how the big half goes. Trent Barrett was a pretty big half. I think Gamble is close to six foot.
Is Marshall-King still being touted as a hooker or better as a half?

Being a big Half/ 5/8 is a risky business in the modern game
you get shafted to 2nd row if you dont perform like an agile halves player

Curtis Sironen ?

Who had a great game last night for Manly

Pity he never had one for us.

Can confirm Jordo wont be here next year.

Best of luck to him, always put in 100% and won't forget his man of the match performance against Souths.

True, but this is now, Barrett's getting something out of him that we couldn't .

And we're getting something out of McIlwrick that his previous coaches couldn't. Both Blake Austin and Martin Taupau were reserve graders when we signed them. ET is another. That's footy. Some players need a change of scenery to take the next step.

I thought we should have kept Sirro and Taupau. We let these guys go in the hope that we'd keep the big 4 and they would lead us to become a top team. Taupau was already clearly a gun and Sirro's defence was great.

Hopefully we've learnt from those poor decisions.

Firstly it's not like he's been fantastic this season - he's had as much bad as good in him. Secondly it may well have less to do with coaching than with him having received a giant kick up the entitled backside.

Last time Siro played half, we got smashed 60-6.

On Ranko though, I think a lot of people fell offside with him when he was getting picked out of position ahead of JAC. To be fair though that wasn't his fault at all, that was all JT.

And your point is??????
Not sure what you're on about, I was just stating that Barrett has done a great job with manly and particularly Sironen, and now that you mentioned it, he's turned Taupau from a 20 minute player into a much longer and better player, I've seen him do 80 minutes of good football this year. Just saying that Barrett has got manly to a level that no one thought would have been possible from last year.

Disagree.

Taupau wanted too much money.

Siro was a bludger and not good enough for US. Maybe different for other teams but he would never have made the grade playing for us.
