Can't agree with MM and no Liddle.

I am very interested to see how the three quarter line and the second row looks in round 1, probably the most competition for spots there.

I would not be surprised to see Benji wear the #14.

I hope hes wearing at least a #14 cos he is the only player that can potentially produce something out of nothing now that we have lost Teddy

Well thats simply not true. Reynolds, Lolohea, Nofo and Suli are 4 that can create things from nothing. All 4 are unpredictable and thats what creates these opportunities you speak of.

My biggest concern with our side is if Lolo cant nail the fullback spot. Who's plan b?

I assume Kev. I think he can do the job but we do need better.

I also think Liddle and Aloiai can create something from nothing.

whoever is playing full back is in good hands with brett hodgson comin back. He was a legend fullback and im sure he can provide some good feedback and advice to lolo or whoever is at #1

our backline will be o.k just worried about our backrow at present it has no aggression or punch, we just have workers, but that will not win us games.

IMO there is massive concerns over Lolohea being a consistently good NRL fullback. A fullback needs to be down right dirty tuff…..he isn't. Was put in a position tonight a fullback often gets put in close to his own line and didnt lay a hand on the Samoa guy who scored. I dont think he has the rugged toughness a fullback needs.

I hope im wrong. So talented but just not the qualities of a fullback.

er….a guy called Ivan Cleary was a pretty handy full back - I'm sure he could help a little as well.

Yep and Teddy was so tough it oozed out of him!!!!

Give the kid a go - he hasn't even played a game for us there yet.

Back Up , Winger , Centre , Fullback

Hayne
And I know plenty will say no way but he is a local from Campbelltown
He can play the game at a very high Level
Cover 3 Positions
Draw card for the club

Negative , he is a dick head but I think Ivan may be able to get 2 good years out of him

If cheap I would have a look

We won't get , Moylan , Maloney , or Pearce ,

If I'm being honest. My concern is he looks like he is getting more and more comfortable in the halves. At this stage he looks better suited to halfback in place of Brooks over making it as a fullback. His confidence is growing in the halves and his looking more and more like a ball player than a runner each time I see him play. I think at this stage Brooks would transition to fullback easier than Lolohea. It all comes down to will. Not saying he can't do it, just think he might not want to and might prefer to be gunning for a full time halves spot. Kev / Thompson would be better positional fullbacks at this stage.

He doesn't fit in with "the team comes first" philosophy of Cleary. I think Hayne is the exact opposite of the sort of player that Cleary would be interested in.

His previous coach felt that way as well before being shown the door and now the assassin's outta there too.

I'm hoping for this team to start 2018:

1\. Lolohea
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Milne
4\. Suli
5\. Fonua
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. Packer
9\. McIllwick
10\. Matulino
11\. McQueen
12\. Taylor
13\. Eisenhuth

14\. Twal
15\. Grant
16\. Aloiai
17\. Marsters

18\. Marshall

Last one before 2018….....................unless we sign more players.

1\. Tuimoala Lolohea
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Esan Marsters
4\. Moses Suli
5\. Taane Milne
6\. Josh Reynolds(c)
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Russell Packer
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Elijah Taylor(c)
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

14\. Chris Lawrence
15\. Josh Aloiai
16\. Alex Twal
17\. Jesse Sue But not really. Michael Chee-Kam

Rowdy to sub for Eiso at lock. Aloiai for McQueen. Twal for Matulino. Sue for Packer. And Taylor can go to 9 if Liddle is struggling.

Think you have pretty well nailed it at this stage Tacky, however I would definitely swap Grant for Sue on last years form. The rest look good at the moment without knowing what will happen during the pre-season. Well done.

I'm thinking we need 1 workhorse and 1 impact prop on the bench. I'm not too sold on Sue either but, I want to keep Aloiai in the backrow. I like Twal as a workhorse but, he's not really known for his damaging runs. Sue just needs to play like he did against Manly every week and I think he'll fit right in.

I like this selection as well for a couple of reasons:
Milne with more try assists than any player in the RLWC indicates he needs to be a centre not a winger.
MM is a better choice then Liddle at the moment.
Marsters on the bench gives versatility in the backs and forwards
Grant is my only doubt but Sue has to prove he's hungry enough week in week out.
