Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

We have had three coaches in twelve years - all with less than 50% win/ loss results. They are paid to get results or at the very least show improvement. One year is probably not long enough to fairly judge Taylor but if in fact he is responsible for creating a situation that is untenable then I think the club is justified in wishing him well and saying see you later. Otherwise he should just shut up and get on with what he said he was going to do, coach the team he has got.

What do you mean by he needs to shut up? He hasn't said anything besides the initial press conference since this began.

I've always thought Ayoub's proposal for another 12 months with Robbie then moving on was an ideal outcome for everyone. No legal trouble for the club, Robbie gets a full year to find a new home (could leave even sooner if someone makes him an acceptable offer before the June 30 cut off if that still applies) and possible collateral damage with other players sympathetic to Robbie's situation (reportedly the whole playing group) is minimised if not eliminated altogether. Board should exhibit a bit of leadership and tell our esteemed coach that this deal will operate and he'd just better get used to the idea

Except it seems to have been a mutual decision by both JT and the board.

No sorry GNR, that's not correct. There was a meeting with JT, Reddy, the board, Robbie and Ayoub. In the meeting they agreed that Robbie play out 2016 but he would hand over the captaincy. He would get his goodbye matches. Then he would head over to the ESL. As soon as they got out of the meeting, JT rang souths and tried to do a swap deal for McQueen . So no, he did that on his own.

Plenty of forum insiders here. Pity they only find out this crap after everything has surfaced.

Silence often speaks louder than words…didn't you know.... :unamused:

It might have been his idea, but going by what Go said in the press release, the club backed the decision which makes me wonder why people are saying JT will be sacked over the decision when the board is behind him.

If Farah stays Taylor has a chance of keeping his job. If Farah goes we will run between 10-16th next year with the roster. Taylor won't be coach if we are not solidly in the top 8 next year. You dot get 3 years in this game to make the finals.

The only hope is Farah stays and plays the house down to prove a point and units the club with performances that are top drawer.

It's amazing that you can see that so clearly TYGA, but that JT doesn't. He seems to believe his only chance of succeeding as a coach with the WT is to move Robbie on.

How could JT be so wrong about what is required for him to succeed with the WT?

JT is a power freak that believes his structure will deliver results and personnel are not important.
He is the NRL's Chip Kelly. Good coaches play to their strengths and attack their opponents weaknesses.
We do the opposite we are built for speed and play a forward dominated game where we get pumped.
Take Tedesco out of the Tigers (who'm farah replaced) and we struggle to win a game.
I am baffled that fans can't see how bad his coaching performance is.

Most people can see it mate, just a few being stubborn

I don't see much difference in the team over the past 5 years to be honest. We have been pretty poor, and this year was no different.

With regard to taking Teddy out and struggling to win a game, that happened last year too. When he went down against Manly, and Robbie was absent with Origin, we were barely able to manage one try a match.

I'm not sold on JT as a coach, but I think there is a lot more going on that just poor coaching. We have an inexperienced roster and a number of glaring weaknesses in some key positions. Until that is fixed, I'm not expecting much, irrespective of whose coaching.

By both Farah and Taylor being here the blaming game will continue amongst fans. They both can't be here after this mess.

Farah will cop it and be blamed for the losses that happen next year and the bickering will continue, if he stays he will Cop it, the only way for him is to go and prove his critics wrong IMO.

Farah doesn't feel he should be the one leaving with a Contract that he wants to honour.
In a way I want Farah to go not cause I don't like him but so JT has no excuses and let next year be his defining year and get some questions answered.

Why would he want to walk? 900K a year at a club where accountability has long been out the window (if it were ever even here in the first place.)

True CB

Want? He wouldn't want to….but obviously his not wanted and the only way to prove his critics wrong if his able to? Is getting out of the joint.
He will be criticised either way next year, if he stays he will be labelled a sook and when we loose games it will also be his fault.

I know that he will get his Contract money either way, just another player we can add to the list of paying them to play for another Club :unamused:, it's how we roll.

As I wrote on pg 120, RTLWB - Robbie to link with Benji. Mc Gregor has now told Ayoub, "make this happen". Robbie will be gone next year, to The Dragons. It will be sorted when he returns from holiday's. I don't know how this will happen, but, it is definitely happening.Go Weststigers!

Rein coming this way?

Remember that time the Tigers cast off a bunch of high priced veteran players that didn't play up to their contract numbers & replaced them with misfits from other clubs & a bunch of juniors from the lower grades?

That kind of worked out ok…

In 04 ? When we got rid of Covell, mears, senter, graham, sattler, moodie, paterson? It went well.
I can't remember any other occasion.

Oh sure, I remember. And that's as far as the similarities go. In 04 we also had a coach who was a master tactician and had great communication and people management skills. Things Taylor doesn't have!
