I like how many people with revisionist history are now blaming Robbie for back stabbing Sheens. When the fact was he was there for 10 years and most fans were delighted to see him go by the end of it.

Bit of revisionist history going on.

There is many clutchers here, the irony

Ummm Sheens said it himself!

Asked whether a show of public support from senior players like Marshall and skipper Robbie Farrah could have saved his job, Sheen responded: "**Put it this way: players get rid of coaches**".

"**It's generally senior players too**," he added.

**"The 19-year-old; if you tell him it's black and it's white, he'll still believe it's black. The older player who starts to struggle with their form, and for whatever reason isn't happy - or his form isn't happy - looks externally rather than internally. That causes generally the demise of coaches."**

I think it was inevitable that over time the appreciation for Sheens would grow. Time heals and all that.

I get the feeling the accountants will have this all sorted by mid week. Farah and his manager will find a figure that the club will sign off on. Than we can get on with football talk and can this drama once and for all. There are no good guys and bad guys in this conflict and there are no winners.
Time to put his ugly affair to bed for ever

Correct….no winners at all.
Yet you can bet odds on there will be many here either way will be feeling something of a victory, whatever the outcome

Awwww…come on Eddie, have a REAL go

So what if fans were happy Sheens was gone?... it still doesnt make it right the role farah played in it.
You say he was here 10 years...so what?
.... we are only talking about the last three or so here and you know it. Clutching indeed.

Pick up that bottom lip 😢

Telltails has a point, I've had numerous people text, email, call me from the wests tigers about my re-newing my tickets, people are not happy mate, i'm sure the club has done their numbers and realised it, "crap, we have a problem".
i'm an accountant and i have a law degree, i do compliance reports on behalf of my clients and i can tell you this turn around today by the tigers is financially motivated. **they've realised that letting Robbie go is simply not not applicable in these circumstances.[/quote**]

What a shame management didn't realise that from the start. The board must do better than just blindly backing the coaches wishes without meticulously weighing up the options. Their inexperience managing complex issues is there for all to see.

Probably the worst thing about all this….....the fact our board had not thought things through. Unless they were thinking that maybe it will only get as bad as Luke Lewis being forced out of the Panthers?

There must be accountability for the way this matter has been handled and the subsequent damage to the Club's brand and finances. We expect Pascoe to resolve the issue but hopefully while in talks with Ayoub and Farah, he is drafting a report for the Board on the shortcomings in the handling of the matter and what action will be taken against those responsible. Not only players ar accountable but also those in management positions.

, what else you want him to say? If truth be told it would be along these lines " the guy has stiffled the way some of our players play there natural game, would you watch the Cowboys game at Campbelltown again? That answers your question on his Coaching ".

Jason Taylor a Coach :roll

Watched the Cowboys game couple of times….Farah wasn't playing he was away with Origin...Watched the Storm game too....Kidwell that day,,,?

The point is... the article makes out Farah will stay if Taylor is not Coach or if he is leave he may come back if he is not Coach...

I think it was Eddie who mentioned Farah wasn't responsible Sheens being sacked which I believe is true I don't think he was....if Farah remains this time and Taylor is sacked well I can't really say that's the case...

If people are happy with,,,, that the players determine the Coach good luck to them....I would suggest though that it's a slippery slope that won't guarantee future success ...

Just say Taylor gets sacked. I don't see how you can blame Robbie. Taylor is right in the middle of this mess. I think if he gets sacked its all on him.

Clubs have a right to move on. There's been tons of examples already pointed out 100 times in this thread of other clubs doing exactly that. Wests Tigers and Robbie Farah are no different, yet this just does not compute with some people :deadhorse:

Eventually a day will come when both Robbie and Jason, have either finished their contracts or been moved on. Neither of them are bigger than the club
Wests tigers will still continue.

Ayoub made reference in an SMH article to another client at another club going through a similar issue at the same time. He said his other client and club would get a good outcome (no ego). Guess to whom Ayoub was referring?

Ch 9 news this morning.
Robbie will be staying. No new playing contract, No denial on later contract( after retirement ),

good news for Wests Tigers if correct

Wonder what type of job that Taylor will get?
Maybe a company troubleshooter

I assume he meant Robbie

Because on the club side they did the same thing with Galloway and Lawrence and got good outcomes

On Robbie's side umm one attempt one lot of horrible ego driven crap

I think Farah now wants out because it's such a blow to his ego that he will be picked to play each week on merit. He lacks the confidence in himself that he is up to it. His agent is making sure there is enough other 'news' going on that if he does go it will be others to blame. Fact is no player is bigger than the club and Farah and Co. are doing their utmost to prove otherwise REGARDLESS of what damage it does to the club. MORE THAN ANYTHING THIS IS WHY THE CLUB HAS MY MEMBERSHIP MONEY AND I WILL BE WEARING MY CLUB JERSEY TODAY!

>
Wests Tigers have not offered disgruntled hooker Robbie Farah a four-year deal to stay at the club, but are keen for him to return to the club in an ambassadorial role after he retires.
>
Reports on Saturday emerged saying the Tigers were willing to offer him a four-year deal.
>
However, The Australian can confirm the club is willing to keep him for the 2016 season — his 14th in first grade — which would allow him to stay a one-club player before ending his NRL career. Farah would also be able to retain his NSW No 9 jumper as the Blues try to regain the State of Origin shield from Queensland.
>
Farah, who turns 32 in January, would then play two seasons in England where he would attract plenty of interest from clubs being a former Australia hooker.
>
He would then return to the Tigers in 2019 for an ambassadorial role, similar to what Steve Roach now holds at the club, or Darren Locker does with Brisbane, Anthony Minichiello with the Sydney Roosters and Wendell Sailor with St George Illawarra.
>
Farah already holds the record for most games at Wests Tigers with 238\. Benji Marshall is next on 201.
>
Farah sat down yesterday with Wests Tigers boss Justin Pascoe to try to break the impasse over money owed to him and the deteriorating relationship with head coach Jason Taylor. It looked like the three-month saga might finally be coming to a head when it was announced at the weekend that Farah had asked for a release.
>
That came just a fortnight after the Tigers had signed former Queensland Origin hooker Matt Ballin from Manly.
>
Originally Farah had dug his heels in, wanting to stay to see out his career at the Tigers.
>
This was despite a threat from Taylor that he would be in the second-tier NSW Cup side after deciding he wanted to take the NRL squad in a different direction.
>
Farah’s change of heart in wanting a release brings its own heavy financial baggage for the Tigers. The NSW vice-captain is owed more than $2 million, including backdated payments and third-party deals.
>
That’s why the Tigers’ board and Pascoe didn’t leap at the idea of cutting ties with Farah, allowing him to join another NRL club as early as this week, as revealed in The Weekend Australian.
>
Pascoe said Farah would not be released until terms “agreeable for both parties” were formulated.
>
Yesterday’s meeting with Pascoe, Farah and his manager Sam Ayoub was set up to thrash out those details.
>
It’s understood some progress was made but more negotiation is needed.
>
“All contractual discussions with Robbie and his management and the club will be kept confidential out of respect for all parties,” Pascoe said after yesterday’s meeting.
>
While weekend reports of a new four-year deal being put on the table are off the mark so are reports that the Roosters had made an offer.
>
Roosters co-captain and No 9 Jake Friend approached the club’s hierarchy seeking an explanation follwing the story.
>
The Australian understands no offer has been made by the Roosters for Farah and Friend remains their No 1 priority.
>
The Roosters have also just signed former Warriors hooker and two-time Scotland World Cup representative, Ian Henderson. Henderson was a Roosters junior who spent six years with the club before stints with Bradford, the Warriors, and most recently five years with Catalans.
>
The No 9 succession plan at the Roosters is already in place with Joey Lussick and NSW Under-20s hooker Grant Garvey.
>
Farah is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2017\. His relationship with Taylor looks irreparable. But both men appear to be resigned to working together for 2016, putting all personal friction aside.
>
Farah has been training well under Taylor so far in the pre-season.
>
But the longer the saga plays out, the more others are affected. Already two young Tigers, halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses, have stalled on talks to extend their deals.

For mine other players had far more do to with it

Robbie played really good football consistently under Sheens.

And its very ironic your quote about wishing the club stopped getting bargain basement coaches. Wondering that a top line coach could do.

Its basically prob exactly what Robbies been thinking to an extent. Like when he supposedly challenged the club to tart buying marquee player (Tuqiri and Ellis) and stop looking in the rubbish bin for talent.

So which side of the fence are you on?
